At this point, we're already living with his parents so if we lost absolutely all financial sources..They'd help us out.  We'd take any job we could, though.  In these times you can't afford to be picky.

It definitely will have a negative effect on everyone especially because of the terrible economy. Too many individuals are loosing their jobs on a daily basis. This cetainly may cause some of these unemployed individuals to get desperate and turn to crime especially if they cannot get a job immediately.

Well, we just had that happen to us and we are actually HAPPIER than we were before. That's how crappy my hubby was getting it stress wise at his old job. Now he is just calmly looking for work and very level headed about it. My rents just loaned us some money to get him some buisness casual clothes so he can start doing interviews again (he has not had to wear clothing like this in over 6 years! lol.) Until then, I'm filling out surveys and he's selling plasma while job hunting.

At this time, that is my situation! I am a single Mom with two kids and I moved from the outer Chicago city area to the country area for my childrens safety and cheaper living. I moved with a job starting as a finance coordinator for a Dentist office and then their own emplyees started quitting and there was no one left to train me so they had to let me go. That is what brought me to doing surveys. However I am still struggling greatly! But head held high.....We will make it!!! There is ALWAYS sunshine after a storm!! I really wish I coud find legit at home work (Other than surveys! I will still do that on the side! However I do not have much for start u costs so it s a no win situation!) NO ONE AROUND MY AREA IS EVEN HIRING!!! Which makes it so much harder! Hope the economy gets better! Good Luck To ALL!!!!!

I lost one of my jobs in January due to lack of sales at the retail store I worked at. Luckily for me, my full-time job is secure for the forseeable future, but my income has taken a HUGE hit! If I am not able to find another source of income soon, I have to face my own possibilities... the major one is moving back home with my parents! I am only 24, so it wouldn't be the end of the world... and I would love to live closer to my family anyway... but I am not so sure my parents would love it!

If I did not have that option, I would sell off my possessions to the best of my ability (it's all just stuff, no matter how much I love it...), stay with friends, live in my car... whatever I had to do. I am not too proud to ask for help when I need it!

I have been unemployed for exactly 1 year.  I am now a stay at home mom.  I was fourtunate to draw my umemployment up until now.  Thank you President Bush for the extentions.  I guess he did one good thing.  I am also foutunate that my husband makes enough money that allows me to stay home.  I am currently trying to get a job with the census buerau which would be great, but if I don't get a posistion that is fine too.  I like the fact that I have found this site, because it allows me to earn extra money for gas, my sons clothing, or any additional small thing that might pop up.  Those of you that are looking for something right now you should look into the census.  It pays really well and it could hold you off until you could find something permenant.

Have to do some serious praying... get rid of any unnecessary debt (cell phones, internet, etc.), hubby would probably ask around to see if anyone needed help on their farms... been there, done that.

I am a stay at home mom.  If my husband lost his job we would figure out a way for one of us to go to work so we have some money coming in.  I would work a lot harder than I already am (and I am doing a lot with these online survey's, etc) to make money to pay our bills.  We are already working on being careful with what we have.

Ok so I was in this situation 100%, lost my job a year ago, no unemployment because I did not make enough, and no savings. I now live with my boyfriend so I can somewhat stay afloat and pray that I will get something soon. In a small town, though my chances are probably slim to none.

Watch out for depression to set in. There is a period of grief that you have to go through. Hopefully, you have family or friends around to help you through it. If not, seek out help through social services.

For those of us without a source of income...without a significant other (widow), without parents or family to fall back on (orphan, grown children struggling), without youth (to work labor-intense jobs), without belongings that are worth anything (sold everything of value a year ago)...but we have a college degree, diverse work experience, computer skills, reliable transportation (at the moment)...what do we do?...we pray...and fill out surveys (lol).

The job market is bleak. Thank you GW! Due to the leadership of the last 8 years, it's near impossible for me to find a job. For women in their 40s-50s and above, with degrees, experience, skills...we're out of work! I apply for 20-30 jobs per week. I know something will happen soon, but the stress of uncertainty is overwhelming sometimes. I know I just have to hold on for 6-8 months until the economy starts to turn around, which I know it will. It helps to have friends to talk to. Be thankful for any cushion you have. Living in your car is not as easy as it sounds. :'(

A few yours ago my aging father went from making $115,000 a year to being unemployed for awhile. Then to making about $40,000 a year. I know make more then he does. You just learn to adapt. Lucky for me, Medical Billing is still in demand, I would take a pay cut if I needed too. Maybe go live with my dad or my brother till I got on my feet.

I would seriously do FC full-time. If it were necessary, I'd start back at the bottom flipping burgers if I had to. Nowadays I think the economy has pretty much crushed a lot of people's pride in what they would or wouldn't do for money (no not in that way....at least not for me). I know I'm one of them!
