I say Yey!  Tatoos are one way you can express yourself...I have 3 and I love them all.  The only advice I would give is to think about your day to day lifestyle.  I work in a corporate office, so I made sure to have mine in spots where they wouldn't really be seen and considered unprofessional.

That's very good advice that I wish some people would take into consideration. A lot of people put all their energy into picking the perfect tattoo but then just have them put it wherever.

I think the back is a good place since the types of shirts you wear to a job would cover it up.

I designed this tattoo back in the late winter/early spring of 2003. So I've been sitting on this design for 6 years. I still want to get it just as bad now as I did when I designed it. I am going to get it on my back, between my shoulder blades, and have the names of my children listed below it, basically one on each vertebra, because my family is my back bone.

Nah for me, but to each their own. I cant think of one thing i'd like forever inked on my skin

My dad had 20+ tattoos from the military and other places, but always talked against them.

I don't really say yay or nay. I do have one, but do have mixed feelings about it. Sometimes I like the way it looks to have one, and the meaning behind mine. Then other days I wish it wasn't there and so irreversible.  It's on my shoulder so it's easily hidden, but when it comes to having to wear a dress it's hard to find one that will cover it and still not look like an old lady dress. I hate looking at my wedding reception pictures because the dress I wore for it showed my tatoo. It was even more "illuminated" than normal because I tried covering it up with makeup. oh well.  :dontknow:

I've got a black and red Eye of Sauron on my right shoulder.  No good pics of it, sorry.  I'd like to get another eye-themed tat on my left should in the not-too-distant future.

For me its a Ney.

I don't like the look of tattoo's or percings (beside earings). It ruins the natural beauty of the human body. Its amuseing how some people spend all kinds of money to keep their skin looking nice, while others don't mind permanetly marking it up.  :P

I'm totally for tattoos BUT I don't like the ones that seem as if they have no rhyme or reason. I have mine in descrete areas. I won't get them where they are visible. As you get older, for me, it would seem that a star on your neck would be uncool but one on your shoulder where it can be covered, works.

I say yeah too. I have one, and I definitely want to get more. When I got my first one I was ready to get another one, it made me believe how some people say they're addicting.
