we live pretty close (within 3 miles) of most of the pizza
joints around, so it's always quick service. we usually
give $3 to $5 depending the cash we have on hand
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Normally, 3-5 dollars unless we're ordering an extreme amount of pies then I would give a percentage of bill total.

Normally, I will tip a delivery driver the same as I would in a restaurant, unless we order a late night pizza.  Then, I am usually a tad more generous with the tip because I do feel for them at those hours and that the only real way to our apartment is off the highway so I know that's traffic.  I don't fault the driver if a pizza takes a while either on a Friday night or if a big event is going on in town or a huge game on cable or something.  I assume that and know that I cannot fault that driver for that.

I don't think the drivers get any of the fee.  The Dominos site says that they don't.  I think it probably just helps the store pay the driver's salary.  I know that they used to get paid mileage and a salary plus tips.
Ummm... may I point out that if they use it to pay the driver's salary, then obviously the driver gets some of the fee.  ;)
I'm sorry if my recondite verbiage is a little difficult to understand sometimes.  Using fancy vocabulary really is fun, you should try it!

Why is there another topic about tipping?

Why is there another topic about tipping?

I'd briefly considered starting a "cow tipping" thread but, changed my mind once I recalled that cows generally share tips.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

to everyone who said tip was dependent on speed and weather the pizza was hot or cold I'd like to point out that most places the driver who is counting on tips for a large portion of their income has no input or control on how fast a pizza's made or boxed up and given to him to deliver. You giving less money is not hurting the pizza place or the people making it one bit, I'd suggest instead calling and complaining so the problem might be fixed instead of just sticking the delivery guy.

Depends on the amount and how fast they deliver the pizza.

usually $3-$4 but commonly i round up to the nearest bill (ie. $16.64 = $20 bill).  I worked at a chain pizza store when i was a teenager and $2-$5 is pretty standard.

i give a little less since they charge for delivary anyway. i had one delivary guy ask me for the tip which i thought was a little rude. how do they know if driver got a tip anyway, i mean cant he just keep tip and say he didnt get one?

I usally tip them 3 or 4 dollars.  I order pizza about 2 times a month.  I don't live too far from the pizza store but when I get off work I am too tired to get ready again and go get it.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you.

I agree with the previous comments. Depends on if the pizza is on time- I usually tip 20%  though....
