Thought and prayers for tornado victims
« on: March 04, 2012, 03:31:18 am »
My thoughts and prayers go out to all people affected by Fridays tornadoes.
I can't imagine loosing everything and having to re-biuld your lives both physically and emotionally
Would like ideas on more ways to help the victims Have any?

My life is far from perfect but count my blessings every day
Be grateful for what you have and you will receive more than you ever expected

If you believe it you can achieve it.

Small Consistent Steps Lead to Great Rewards

Yes, I'd suggest not supplying them with mobile homes as temporary shelters however, some folks are likely to take that as being impolite.  The Red Cross does what they can to help so, perhaps helping the Red Cross help others would be a viable option.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I see nothing wrong in mobil homes being set up as temporary housing, at least it would be a place to live while they are getting their homes up and going. It would be a lot better then living in shelters. Our thoughts and prayers are with them also. The red Cross will do all they can, but they are strecthed very thin. Lets use some of the money that is being sent overseas and use it here for our own country that is in need of help.

The problem has been that many times, such "temporary housing" solutions become more permenent and that might expose them to further tornados.

They're always stretched thinly, so is FEMA.  Every little bit can help though.
