Well, both are medically known not to be a healthy habit, but marijuana is the "healthier" of the two vices.  As for revenue.....marijuana would be the one to pull in the most dinero.

LEGAL revenue: Cigarettes first, medicinal marijuana second.  ILLEGAL revenue: marijuana.  OVERALL revenue: the healtcare industry assisted by cigarette manufacturers and users (me included on occasion)!

That is a tough question to answer. Revenue from marijuana sales can not be accurately tracked. The only trackable revenue would be from fines collected.
Cigarette sales can be tracked because they are legal.
I do agree that legalizing marijuana woukd be a good boost to the economy and perhaps lower the rate of health problems from cigarette smoking.

Revenue? Since cigarettes are a regulated product with verifiable revenues going to various companies, and marijuana being illegal and unregulated, with hundreds if not thousands of pounds being siezed by various law enforcement agencies, There is no way to know.

Just a little aside comment about marijuana: I am former law enforcement, and it never ceases to amaze me how many regular users of marijuana do not
1.) Consider themselves "drug" users and
2.) Do not consider themselves criminals (despite the fact that that possessing, buying, growing and selling are all a chargeable crime) Make the connection? Crime Criminal?????
I am convinced that those ideas are a direct result of the drugs negative effect on the brain. I think it disturbs a persons "wiring"

I'm going to go a different way entirely and say pharmaceuticals and alcohol. Especially pharmaceuticals if you could factor in the legal revenue PLUS the illegal revenue. I imagine that would be a really large amount. The pharmaceutical company probably makes more than big tobacco does, if not very close to each other.

It depends on who you are talking about making the money. The government makes money off of both but in different ways. On the one hand cigarettes are taxed. On the other between the seizing of monies, cars, homes, various other properties and OUR money that they use to "fight the war on drugs" they profit quite a bit. If I had to pick which one they benefit from most it wouldn't be cigarettes.
