I appreciate that somebody cares about spelling in a time when language seems to becoming numbers for words. Some, many seem to pride themselves in how fast they can reach the number keys to make words so creatively. Oh I suppose less is more now. I'm just an old fuddy duddy. Don't pay any attention to me. It just makes me feel like all those years in school were a waste of time.

Much of the problem nowadays is that so many people are texting and they just carry over the shortcuts into other areas because they are too lazy to write correctly where it should be done correctly.

I agree completely but sometimes when you're in a rush everything gets messed up and you don't have the time to send it, you do have a valid point though.

Wherever I'm typing spell check comes on to alert me of misspelled words. Yes writing correctly and speaking properly are things of the past. The new technology has taken over. Many people can't write or do cursive like we did years ago.

That's not the half of it either - the "spell-checker" also insures that any 'magical intercessory rituals' are correctly invoked too. ;->

I would suggest typing the message into MS Word and spell check it.
Next just copy and paste the message to the forum board.

i dont think spellcheck is really that important. FC isnt school. However, you could always reread your posts before you post them, or even preview them first.

While it's true that FC isn't school, any members who happen to be 'witches' might disagree on the importance of a "spellcheck" before 'casting' to to the winds.*

As far as texting goes, who likes reading long texts on a little bitty screen, so I don't think it really matters to misspell or abbreviate. Now when you're posting here I think it's best to try to write correctly so you can better communicate and get your point across.

I would suggest typing the message into MS Word and spell check it.
Next just copy and paste the message to the forum board.

Now I don't think you have to do all that when you're posting here. It shows what words you misspell as you type... at least mine does. When you are typing, if you see any red squiggly underlined words, just right click them and click on the correctly spelled word. I'm not sure what the problem is, but you can also go back and modify your post as well. I do it all the time... I just did it now  ;D

Why do so many people on here get so fired up if someone mis-spells?  :dontknow: Are you all abunch of english teachers? If you understand what someone is trying to say, what right does anyone have to ridicule anyone else for their spelling?  :sad1:

Maybe it's because it's so damn disgusting to have gone to school for 12 years for nothing!
