Why do so many people on here get so fired up if someone mis-spells?  :dontknow: Are you all abunch of english teachers? If you understand what someone is trying to say, what right does anyone have to ridicule anyone else for their spelling?  :sad1:

It isn't a matter of ridicule or teaching spelling/grammar; it's a matter of clarity in a text-based medium.  If someone posts a semi-coherent jumbled mess, their message may not get across.  Much like the 'bible'.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

It's just that laziness is so obvious and those of us who went to school and learned to spell sort of feel like it was just a big waste of time since it doesn't seem to matter anyway in today's world...like so many other things.

There is already a feature of spell check here when you type a wrong word, it will show a red line under it.. which means that something is wrong with spelling. and when you right click on it, it shows all related corrected words.

Not all browsers have the spell check with the red underlined word, I use both IE and Firefox, IE doesn't have that feature.  And Firefox doesn't catch everything "its" is an example, it could also be spelled "it's" and if you use it in wrong context it doesn't get underlined because both are technically correct words when used properly.

It really doesn't matter and that's why it's so maddening.

Sometimes mistakes happen its called we're human!!  Just don't worry about them just go about your own and do your best.  Most get and understand or above all else ask the person what they mean.  Have great day.

Try opening up word or notepad and type your response there. Spell check and then copy and paste here.
Good idea except you'd need a word doc not a notepad. I sometimes do so only if I'm typing a long response.
But on a short response how many people bother with proof reading, even though we should.

It just seems some people on here are very uptight and get mad at the silliest things. It is just a website for "FUN" people. Does anyone remember how to have fun anymore?   :dontknow:  Has this world come to the point where all we can do is belittle others over common human mistakes?  :-   What happened to compassion and politness?  :sad1:

Yeah, I write for a living.  I'm not an English major or a grammarian, so it's never bothered me when people type stuff on the internet.  I play a lot of MMO's and people are CONSTANTLY correcting other people's grammar and spelling to get on their nerves.  I always tend to point out that a video game isn't the same platform as an office where you're trying to make an impression on your boss.  This forum would fall in that same category.

Perhaps that is all true but it does seem that spelling is going the way of the dodo bird along with grammar.

I agree with you on that, but it seems for some people being uptight, getting mad and belittling is considered to be fun.
Does FusionCash compensate for such acts ;D?

Don't worry about your spelling we all have misspelled words. I know that sometimes I type so fast I mix up the letters in a word. Spell check would be great though!!

I have gotten so dependent on spell check that I have to stop and think how to spell certain words.   :angel11:
