Have you tried bathing in epsom salt? It supposedly relieves muscle pain, so it should soothe back problems.  You can also use eucalytus oil for pain, if you can find it in your local health food store.  But yes, you should see a doctor to get to the root of the problem.

I found out that vicks helps with pain too. I know that it sounds silly but it works, even on cramps. :peace:

any ideas how to ease my back pain hurting right in between my shoulder blades icy hot ,heating pad and hot bath not helping at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't have any ideas for you, but believe me when I say I know how you feel.   I was down on my back all day.  My husband messaged it, I have prescription for pain killers so I had to take that with muscle relaxers, and was still in tears so my husband hooked up this seat thing that has two messaging *bleep* with heat and it helped a little than he rub muscle cream kinda like bengay, still hurting but not as bad.  Have you tried laying in the bath tub with epson salt my husband said it helped him when his legs was hurting him.

Does it feel like muscle pain? Sometimes a visit to the chiropractor will do the trick.

Seconding the chiropractor.  My fiancee sees one regularly and it really helps her aches and pains.
to be honest, i dont if the pain is due to muscle, but i do know previous car accidents are primarily the cause

I used to get pain in same place, mine was do from sitting and working at a computer all day.  I went to a chiropractor it helped me so much!!  Now I go to a chiropractor/accupuncturist that does both of these things, wonderful!!!

Try Icy Hot or hot/cold compress. Go to a chiropractor or massage therapist.  Or, go see your doctor. I don't like taking any medication...only hides the symptoms.
