Hello,
I agree with you.  People need to wash the clothes before donating them.  Remember the Golden Rule and treat others the way you want to be treated.

I don't think this is rude, I would want to get clothing that is washed not dirty that is quit nasty getting dirty clothes that r donated. U should wash them before u donate them just saying.

i think alot of the people donating are usually buying new stuff and since they are getting rid of the old by donating they figure why wash it, im getting rid of it. they probably never had to wear donated clothes :peace:

I believe you should always was them. If they are not clean who would want to buy them. I know that i wouldn't want too. I even wash the clothes i buy at the store before wearing them. You never know who tried them on.

I believe some people would think of donations as slightly more optimistic ways to dispose of unwanted clothes. Of course, like everyone else says, it'd be quite nice to wash them before donating. I think it's rather disrespectful to donate dirty clothes

If anyone truly cares about the people that they are donating to, yes they should wash them first. It is disrespectful and lazy.

That's gross... I worked at a Goodwill temporarily and I recall the manager said to always wear gloves when going through the bags of clothing. After working there for a couple days I found out why. You wouldn't believe the stuff people would donate without washing. Sometimes it was so bad we would just throw the whole bag away.

I agree that it is a great thing to donate items but someone should be responsible of washing them out before them give them to others!

Yes that is very rude.  At least they could wash items before donating them.

Yes and no. Atleast they took the time to donate, and did not throw stuff away. The place which resells needs to make sure that stuff is clean before putting it up for sale.

I think you should stop and think.  Would you want something that was dirty or stained or did not work any more?  I cannot believe how many people take things that are broken in to donate.  If it doesn't work anymore throw it away, if it is badly stained, throw it away.  Don't give it to a charity and act like it is a good thing,it is NOT.  A large part of the sorting they do is spent throwing away items that should not have been brought to them in the first place.   Do unto others as you wish they would do unto you!

That just show's how lazy and gross people are.  I've donated and purchased from places like Goodwill and would never think in a million years to drop off something that had food ground into or stuck on.  I know the staff there works hard and organizing and putting out what they can so I can only imagine some of the things they come across.  Thank goodness I've never run into anything disgusting like that there or I may just be turned away from frequenting.

I guess I fall under the category of most people that it's better than throwing it away. Donating an item that is ruined due to it, now that's ridiculous. However, it's better to give something to those in need if it's not in the best condition. I just keep reminding myself that there are those worse off than me that could use stuff I don't think isn't important. Still a bit rude, but bless them for donating.
