I am a work at home free lance writer, and I average over 3000.00 a month-- not including what I make from get paid to read email sites and survey sites like FC. I just got back into freelancing about 5 months ago, and I use the money to pay our bills and keep my offline business open so my 9 employees have  jobs. Our offline biz has lost over 75% of our normal revenue in less than four years, and we no longer have retirement savings. I am going to bust my tail so we can keep our people employed. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: MR. O, I BUILT THIS. I SPENT 15 YEARS BUILDING THIS. THANK YOU FOR TAKING IT AWAY. KEEP YOUR HEALTHCARE, I'LL PAY THE FINE. My other half and I work 363 days a year, and have for the past three and a half years. We haven't gotten a penny out of our business the whole time, but we have put well over 500,000 dollars INTO it to keep our people working. I am NOT going to abandon my people. We have paid mortgage payments, paid for braces, bought used cars and used our non-existent spare time and company vehicles to help our people move. We have paid utility bills and each of our employees gets a 100.00 grocery card every month and gift cards to Wal Mart and a full turkey dinner for the holidays. We are also putting two employees through college. Five years ago, we were doing all that and STILL putting 25,000 a year into savings for retirement-- those days are over.

Sorry for the rant but it makes me so angry to see so many people out of work, and I can't do a danged thing about it. Down in the Tucson part of our business, we get dozens of requests for work every day-- and if I made a million a year, I'd hire everyone I could-- but I don't, so I can't. I am just glad I can make enough working at home to pay my bills and still pay my employees. I'll never be able to save for retirement again as this point, but at least my people will still have jobs, and still be going to college. That's all that matters, I guess. After all, you can't take it with you when you go LOL. I know-- I went twice and came back.

I have a home-based sign & banner business, but I do FusionCash & other online programs on the side because home-based businesses can be fickle at times. Haven't had much time to do my online programs for the summer though because I've been working a temporary summer job.

I wish I had the motivation to start my own business but I'm working on changing that "can't do because..." mindset I tend to have. Sites like FC are as far into 'work from home' as it gets for me so far

I work from home doing a couple of things.  First I'm a freelance writer, second I make handmade items such as gloves, hats, scarves (and I love to figure new things out such as jewelry, hair pieces, etc.).  I also count on places like fusion cash, but as an extra.  I'm already online a lot.  I think it is worth it considering I set my own hours.  If I wake in the middle in the night, no worries if I spend too much time up because I don't have to be up except to get my kids off to school, get them from school, and for random appointments here and there.  I know I don't probably make as much as others, but it's fine for me.

I work from home as well outside part-time. I make about 200.00 per month doing various opportunities! The norms nowadays is that many companies are only hiring PT employees so I need to make up the difference online.

You got that right! We are all getting what we deserve for electing a jumped up communist. I didn't vote for him, but I'm paying anyway LOL. By the way, if you're interested in the writing biz, look up my posts at MyLot.com-- I hang out there on my off time, because they pay you LOL.

:sad1: amen elandry! I did ok when I was working and then I became too ill to work and became declared disabled.  I almost lost my house but then it was modified to a payment I still couldn't afford now months after going through a small inheritance my mom left me and all of my retirement savings, I am back in the same boat.  I am just walking away this time.  I just can't go through it again and the house is more than my husband and I can handle.  Best of luck to all.  I love to write maybe I need to try the freelance writing too as two small disability checks don't cut it.  Oh and about the "wonderful" health care plan, I have two sons that stay out of work due to no fault of their own and I don't even want to think about it.  :dontknow:

I work online as a data entry clerk. The pay is decent but no benefits. It really helps that I have a job at home since I am going to school full-time until Spring 2013.

Is most of your free lance writing income from MyLot?

No, I actually am an elite writer at iwriter.com and a have a bunch of clients I write for. iwriter accounts for about 1000.00 a month, my other clients account for 2000.00 or more (and a lot of them found me at iwriter). MyLot is where I hang out to socialize and offer my opinion on things, and give advice and help to aspiring writers. I hang at MyLot instead of facebook or twitter because they pay you to post-- unlimited, and they also have tasks you can do and private messaging to keep in touch with Mylot friends. The people there are cool  :)
