Teachers
« on: August 17, 2012, 08:15:02 am »

I'm happy to hear that there will be many teachers coming back, but half of them still aren't coming back to my school.

we have that problem here too but with other options such as private school and homeschooling and now the online high school. there is going to be a less of a need for teachers in the public school setting.

I homeschool my son. Im what they call a Learning coach to my son and he has a Online Teacher who we meet up with in person at times so she can test him and ask him questions and also she meets with him online on a weekly basis. I asked her how does she like her and she enjoys it very much. There is many many people now days choosing home schooling Im assuming because they dont have to go thru all the tribulations of public  school systems. Myself I chose it because my son was being bullied alot and the day the kids tryed to stick my son head down a toilet was the day I said its time to go. Once a week the school has community day and he plays well with the other kids and when I take him to the park he is very happy to play with kids who actually wanna play and not fight or bully.

Most teachers are great, some so so. But you know if the parents would be more involved in their learning instead of just letting them do what they want it would be better. You cannot teach a child when they are on their ipods and phones. Some of them are so nasty to their teachers also. It's like i dare you to get on to me and i don't have to do what you want of me. My husband is a sub. where we live and they call him the enforcer. But he never has to ride them very hard they all know he means what he says the first time.  The kids respect him, wish they did the other teachers.
