My dream home would have to be a three or four story house(counting the full basment) where our suite would take up the whole top floor: sitting room with a TV and comfy couch and a chaise by the window to lay and read and be able to look out at all of my horses, a huge bedroom with his and her closets and a huge bathroom with a seperate shower stall and a large cuzzy tub seperate sinks too. Five bedrooms below us with at least three baths so I can be able to put friends and family when they come visit and my youngest having the biggest room on that floor with her playroom attached and over the garage area. Then I want a den,a half bath, formal living room, formal dinning room, and a huge kitchen for me to be able to do all the cooking and baking I love. There will also be another bedroom that is completly handycap accessable. The basement would have a media room, a office/library to house all of my books. A large bedroom and bath for the teenager with a small den off of it she she can entertain her friends. This may sound funny but a room just for the dogs( one I already have and then the others I would get) where they would have their beds and an area where we could give them their baths. There would be a door to let them out into thier own customized play area for them.
The wrap around porch would connect the main house and a smaller two bedroom with kitchen, den and two bath house where my handicap parents could live. There would have to be an enclosed pool that could be used year round with a sling to get my mom in and out so she could do some type of theropy. Oh I almost forgot: I would want an elevator in the main house so my parents and I could go from floor to floor without a problem.(and also be able to get the clothing from the main floor laundry room off of the mud and butlers pantry. And I must have at least 500 acres so I could have the horses and other animals I'd love. like cows for fresh milk along with goats. chicks for fresh eggs. Etc. ;) :)

I have seen some large homes when I am driving with family.
I like the idea of a large house where a number of people can live together, perhaps 4 families, three generations.
I also like the looks of  two houses in one side by side. [is that duplex housing[?]

Mine would be a tiny log cabin in the middle of nowhere on the water.

yes that would be considered a duplex. but there is also a four plex where there is two on one side and two on the other. thats what my parents live in now and it is very nice. you don't hear your neighbor beside or behind you. at least we don't at my parents. but i guess that is just the way they were constructed. you do share a common drive with your neighbor and in the case of my parents the unit facing them as well. it can be kind of bad when you have at least two of the four units having company over. we can park in front of the garage and not block anyone but if my brother comes over too its a different story.

My dream home would have a really big kitchen with lots of cabinet and counter space--and a yard the size of a Post-It note.

I love the paid in the paid in full comment. LOL tell me about it!  ;D

I would have plenty of acregage for horseback riding, tennis courts, basketball courts a swimming pool and jacuzzi.

There would also be a guest house and multiple garages. The basement would be finished and the kitchen would be all stainless steel appliances for my mom. I'd have a huge entertainment room with lots of movies, tv shows and a media center and I'd have an office and game room. My room would be very large would have a california king size bed, computer made to my specifications, big screen tv, walk in closet and bathroom and be stocked with my favorite books, magazines and audiobooks.

It would be awesome! I would leave no stone unturned in makeing sure that it would be everything I would want it to be. A real dream home just to my specifications right down to the color schemes.

My dream home would be up in the mountains, with part of the house built into the mountain, Big south facing windows overlooking the valley that would be with the land i own. A small lake and lots of wilderness around. Also all powered by solar and wind generators. No bills.

My Dream Home would be a 4 bdrm 3 bath and big home office, with a huge back yard where my son could have his own playground area and I could have my area for planting things and growing flowers. I want it to have solar panels. I want my bedroom to  have a bathtub that you can walk into and just feel like your in heaven with a switch that just has bubbles everywhere, (OK I got a lil kiddy there). In my son room have things built into the wall that he can push a button and they come out only when he needs them like his bed and his computer area. In my bedroom a closet that could hold so many pairs of shoes and purses along with my clothing. I love purses and shoes, I'm a fanatic. I want my front yard to have a big oak tree in the middle of the wrap around driveway. Well I could go on and on but I end it here. I actually have had my brother draw my home for me as he is a drafting major, he brought my dream home to life on paper. I use it as a goal motivator that I am working towards. OK have a great day everyone.

I have two jobs, one in loan purchasing quality control and another in loan underwriting and I see twenty different homes everyday.  My favorites have been in South Carolina: big with pools, close to the ocean and fairly inexpensive.  California comes in as a close second but the homes are outrageously expensive. I live in Colorado and am amazed at some of the mountain mansions. It would be nice to combine a home that has ocean frontage with a home that has access to skiing within a two hour drive.
