Yea I don't know which one is better now a days either. I tried both but I watch about the same movies all the time and the prizes are not good for the channels offered.

From what I hear they are all about the same when it comes to price, service, speed, picture quality etc. It's just a matter of what you like to watch and what service you prefer based off you past history with Cable, Dish or DirectTV.

In my experience cable is the worst of the bunch, and if you have an alternative, I'd consider switching right away. Satellite is second best, although not as reliable in terms of signal. But content and quality, Satellite will meet most people's needs, and sometimes that's the only thing available in some areas. However, having experienced all of them, and having experienced fiber optics, I chose fiber and I'd never go back. If you're lucky enough to live in an area where there's fiber optics providers, it's something to consider; it might seem a little pricey at first, but it's worth it imho.

I personally prefer Satellite over cable. But when you look at the big picture, the prices are going up across the board. Who would have ever thought we would have to pay through the lungs for TV.

Direct TV - I have had no issues with the satelite but the prices keep going up.

Personally I have a preference for dish...dish network that is. The number of channels offered, hd quality and fair cost for the services sells me on them.

I stay away from dish personally.  My grandparents had it for a while and whenever there was a bad storm there would be major interference and it would go out.
