Sugar by Maroon 5 is an ok song.  I wouldn’t say it’s their worst but certainly not their best.  But the music video for it…DEFINITELY their best Music video ever!  Even if it was all staged.  Showing up at random weddings was a great way to do the love song.

I really like FourFiveSeconds by Rihanna & Kanye West.  Sir Paul McCartney on gutiar is phenomenal.  I just wish they made him sing too.

I listen to music only. Many singers interpreting the same song can ruin the song entirely.

I have to say I really enjoy meghan trainor songs.  They have a feel good rhythm I want to say almost like the ‘50’s or 60’s type of music.  She’s totally a guilt pleasure.  The type of artist you know everyone is listening to but won’t freely admit they listen and like.

I’ve been listening to George Strait’s the Cowboy Rides Away (the deluxe edition from Walmart) and it really saddens me.  George strait is a pure as country comes and never lost his voice of the decades in which he sang.  I recall an interview he once did for a magazine in which he said he would never retire as long as people want his music.  Because he never changed his style to fit the sound country music is (sadly) taking he has  retired.  I am sorry to see him go because I miss the country sound—his sound.  Now it all sounds like something to be played in a night club.  You know, country sounds like pop, pop sounds like dance, dance sounds like Electronic etc.  I’ve basically stopped listening to the radio for that reason.  I hope I am around long enough to see music come full circle, you know music genres going back to sounding the way they are supposed to sound rather than whatever is the fad of that year.  I will say one thing, I am not surprised at the people he had as his special guests.  Besides the obvious choices, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, he had true tested artists who’ve paid their dues and proved they’ve got staying power, though not as great has him, (after all there can only be 1 King George).  Artists like Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, and Jason Aldean.  All in all it is a great tribute to a great Artist and I just which he didn’t have to retire because with him goes the way country music was meant to sound.  :sad1:

I’ve been thinking about Barry Manilow verse Rod Stewart.  I have to say that while Manilow has a smoother voice than Stewart who always sounded raspy like he smoked too many cigarttes, I actually prefer Stewart.  The only thing I ever really like Manilow sing was copacabana.  Stewart on the other hand, wow there were just so many songs I still enjoy like the Motown Song, Rhythm of my heart, Forever Young, Young Turks and Maggie May.

Somebody want to tell me why MTV this year nominated 7/11 by Beyonce for 5 awards where as Rihanna’s American Oxygen was only nominated for 1—and that for best song with a message?  7/11 was filmed like a home video of Beyonce just dancing around from her balcony to a hotel hallway where as Rihanna’s American oxygen actually shows historical clips of America.  Why, when even vocally Rihanna’s song is better sung than Beyonce’s is American Oxygen not nominated for Best Video?  Or even Best Pop video?  I guess America really is dumbing down.

Nicki Minaj sucks and she is the worst female rapper of all time. Her messages and videos are filthy and for stupid people.

I’m enjoying Rita Ora’s I will never let you down.  Her new song Poison isn’t bad.  I don’t care for the music video to it.  The thing with Rita is I just don’t think any of her songs will be as big as her first single Party and Bullsh**t.  But the fact that she’s still around after three years is pretty good.

Chandelier by Sia I don’t much care for the song but Maddie Ziegler is a fantastic dancer.  She needs more than just DanceMoms and a guest spot on Ellen.  I think the majority of us that watch Chandelier is for her and to for Sia’s singing

I really like Cheerleader by OMI.  While it’s too soon to say if he’s just going to be a one hit wonder Cheerleader is a great slow yet happy beat song to dance to.  He takes his time with the lyrics and it just makes you feel good.  It’s not rushed or loaded with electronic synths to make it sound like a machine is singing.  I’m glad it went to number one for OMI.

Fight song by Rachel Patten is a great inspiring song but even with Taylor Swift’s help I don’t think it exploded as much as it could or should have.  It just sort of fizzled for like two weeks and now on its way to being well forgotten.

Not sure I really care for Hey Mama by David Guetta.  I really like Nicki Minaj stuff but I don’t know if she was just thrown in there for attention and Bebe Rexha has been in my radar but he doesn’t even bother to use her in the music video
