Undecided whether I should get Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit.  Not too thrilled he turned it into a trilogy when it was just one book and I hated those six endings he put on the end of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  I would have been willing to sit through 9hours (because each movie is about 3) if they just ended it with the ‘you bow to no one’ scene.  That was a perfect ending.  But no.  Peter Jackson has to show them going home (even though it was understood they would).  I wouldn’t have had soo much of a problem with that if they were welcomed back the way Willow was at the end of Willow.  At the end of Lord of the Rings its like no one cared Frodo and company went back.  I’m stuck thinkin “why’d they bother?”  If no one cared they left and no one cared they came back why did they?  At least in the book there is a purpose.  But Peter Jackson changed that when he killed off Christopher Lee’s Sauroman in the second movie.

Watched rise of the gardian and I don’t get how they bring back the Sandman.  Jamie says he knows what to do runs with the kids around a corner and poof suddenly there’s the Sandman

In rise of the Gaurdians I just love the vevlety smoothness of Jude Law’s voice as the Boogey man Pitch Black.  At times he sounds like Paul Bethany but there are other times that you just know it’s him.

I have Paul Bethany in a few things and I really like him as a villain but in Priest he’s a good guy and that role just suited him.  My own mother watched it and said, “Great now I never want to ever see him as a villain again.  He’s just so nice as a good guy.

Have to say I’m a Huge Karl Urban fan.  Watched him from Season 1 of Xena and everything he’s done since then.  He is one of the few actors out there that I can watch him play a good guy and a villain.  I got Priest because he’s the villain.  I got Doom because he’s the good guy.  He’s just so great in whatever he’s in.

Mario Lanza was an Italian singer and his movies showcase that rather than trying to prove he can act and when the Great Caruso came out there were people and critics who didn’t like the movie and thought Lanza was trying to be Caruso (I mean that not in a good way.)  From my point after watching the movie, no one else COULD have played Caruso.  My grandmother’s mother loved Mario Lanza while her husband my grandmother’s father still stuck with Caruso.

I think out of all the Burt Lancaster movies I like Crimson Pirate the best.  So glad I was able to finally find that on dvd—course it was made in korea but as long as it played on US players I’m good.

I have to say that while I have never like Daniel Day-Lewis (though always respected his work ethic and believed his is one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood today) I can watch him in Lincoln.  I haven’t seen really any Academy Award worthy performance from him yet but then like I said I’m use to his work ethic so maybe that’s why I’m not seeing it.

Has anyone seen the Gi Joe movie? I want to go see it, but I do not if it is as good as the first.

I've been seeing online trailers for the new movie, "The Host" - kind of looks intriguing to me.  Might need to catch that at a matinee if the reviews are not that scathing.  Still need to see "Oz, The Great and Powerful" - need to see that for my trivia contest.  I'll be shocked if there are no questions from that as the quiz master often refers to himself as "Oz, The Great and Powerful"...LOL!

I'm a stickler for old movies. To kill a mocking bird is one of my favorites.

I love horror movies whether they were released in the box office or straight to dvd. I sue my bestbuy rewards certificates to purchase movies that i have never heard of. some are pretty good and some look like they were shot with someones video camera but it is still entertaining to me.

Me, Myself, and Irene would seem like an appropriate movie for this thread.
