I wouldn’t say Rob Lowe is a great actor but the performance he gives in Escape Under Pressure is one of his best.

I love Jude Law as Dr. Watson.  I read all the Sherlock Holmes stories and just couldn’t believe the psychological abuse that Watson puts up with.  I always found myself asking why doesn’t Watson just leave.  Then came Jude Law’s version and he doesn’t put up with anything.  Finally, a Watson I really like.

It seems that all Hollywood does now is make sequels to any movie that makes over 200mill in the box office.  I mean the newest Star Trek was how the original Star Trek group got together.  It was great.  I saw it in the movie house and bought it as soon as it went to dvd.  But did it really need a sequel?  No.  And everyone else agreed with me since it took six weeks for the sequel to make 216million in the box office while in its second week in the movie house the latest Super Man already made 210mill.

Of course they would decide to make a sequel of the Smurfs.  Since it brought in more money that it took to make a sequel seemed only natural.  It doesn’t look bad but I’m undecided whether to go see it or not.

Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man is my favorite Marvel movie hero.  I’m glad a third was made.  If they made twenty of them I’d get every one.

There isn’t anything Taylor Kitch could have done differently when acting in John Carter.  It’s really Disney’s fault for going ‘in house’ and collecting a virtually unknown actor (unless you watched Friday Night Lights on ABC a Disney owned company) and sticking him in a virtually unknown story.

I enjoyed the last A Good Day to Die Hard.  I just wish they didn’t edit out the part where it showed the daughter (from Die Hard 4) drops her dad John McClane off at the airport.  I thought that was a nice touch.

I like the third Die Hard the Best but the last one A Good Day to Die Hard has that banter between father and son that I loves so much between John McClane and Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson).

There are rumors of a Die Hard 6 with the plot being he goes to Japan to get a 30 year commendation for his efforts in saving the lives in the first one.  Now I liked four about his daughter and five about the son but I think 6 is just overkill.

While Stallone and the rest of the cast of the expendable franchise realizes they are parodies of themselves, I can’t understand why Nicholas Cage was cast.  Milla Jovoich of the Resident Evil franchise yes but not Cage.  Cage isn’t an action actor.

I watched The Ghost and Mrs. Muir movie with Rex Harrison and while it is a tear jerker, I am disappointed at the end when ‘the ghost’ comes back after Mrs. Muir dies and becomes a spirit herself the two don’t kiss.  All the love is implied but never actually stated.  I guess that’s why the end has no real love scene.  The two just walk off together into the smoke.

So I finally watched that old Wesley Snipes movie Art of War.  Then I watched the sequel after that.  Now the sequel isn’t bad but the first are of war is much better.

I have to say I like the original King Kong better than the Peter Jackson version.  That’s why you don’t mess with a classic.  I mean after Adrien Brody’s character sleeps with the Noami Watts she no longer wants him, she’s ‘in love’ with Kong.  Adrien Brody has to spend the rest of the picture chasing after her.  I think that makes him a sucker.  That’s the only movie I ever watched I wish had a Casablanca ending.  Adrien Brody’s character should have walked off with Jack Black’s character because its’ clear Noami Watts’ character doesn’t want him.
