Traffic Exchanges
« on: November 05, 2012, 06:12:36 am »
 :) Hi everyone,
I just tried TE's Saturday and got 3 hits on my splash page. I was not impressed and thought it took too much time and effort for the return I got.
However, 3 hits was better than 0 hits. I could use your opinion.
Thanks,
Terry

It is a lot of work for a little return.  Your best best is to use a traffic exchange with a chat feature and talk to others who are surfing.  Don't be pushy - just talk.  If there is a profile page, be sure to use it to promote whatever you're promoting.  I've joined a lot of programs while surfing over the years but only had luck recruiting with a very few.

Traffic exchanges are a great way to get exposure.
As with building any business, it takes time to find the right person who will want
to join whatever you are promoting.

With all that  said- I will never claim it is easy but it is an affordable
way to advertise.

If you consider that earning traffic exchange credits is something you can do while watching TV in the evening, whatever you get is a bonus. Remember most of the people on them are real people like you and I, so you just need to figure out what will catch their attention and spur them to take action. They actually do work if you analyze how you use them and it's free.

OldBuddy, how long have you been using traffic exchanges? Is there such a thing as to many traffic exchanges. Since you have your new computer, you are dong just what your say. I would presume some of your sites have a chat feature as well. Is it really such a great way to advertise or just one that goes along with other methods you use. (Contacted you on a site you probable do not use as much these days, but since I got a gmail account now I have a new telephone number. So I will be contacting you again soon.)

I started using traffic exchanges right after I came online (probably 2001) and the first big success I had with them was I did a psudo-press release about a brand new list building concept known as FreeNetLeads. In fact I see it's still around. I pounded some of the same traffic exchanges I use today and in less than a year had over 10,000 in my downline I could contact about new opportunities. As time went on and I sent more and more opportunities, the responses dwindled and I moved on to other strategies. I have had many lists since then and downlines as big as 60,000, but the lifespan is always about the same and they fade away.

To answer your question about how many traffic exchanges are enough, not all of them spend your credits as fast as I can earn them, so I stick with some favorites I have used for years with HUGE numbers of members. I may try a new one if it appeals to me with a unique idea. Keep in mind, the same people are on a lot of them, so more is not always better. I keep them in groups and rotate from one group to another so I get continuous exposure as my credits trickle out. Then again I have one huge exchange that my credits get spent within minutes of earning them, so I surf during the time I want more exposure and target the geographic area I need.

If I do use an exchange that has chat, I turn it off as a distraction I don't need. Remember I only spend about 2 or 3 seconds on each page before it's time to move to the next one and that's not enough time for any chats. It's all a numbers game, so I plan accordingly.

One important question you didn't ask was do I upgrade? I have a couple that I do, because they have income that warrants it. One traffic exchange I have used since 2005 has paid me thousands of dollars for a $10 a month upgrade I gladly pay.

Does that help?

 Yes thanks, lots to take in. Will have to digest it for a day. Will try some other offers on some of your sites very soon. Since FusionCash is financing it with the so-called free money!

I have actually signed up with a online marketing course where they teach you all about safelists, traffic exchanges, solo ads, etc.
I have learned so much in the past few weeks than in all the other programs I have tried.  They have a fantastic course layout.  There is so much stuff that if you just click around, you will get so confused that you will quit out of the program.

Since signing up with Safelists and Traffic Exchanges, the main objective first is to promote your website.  They even have a report card so that you can see
how you are doing.  So far, I am not doing as well as I would like.  And it takes a lot of work to promote ads in an effort to acquire associates who will sign up under you.  But I find it fun and even if I do not stay with it indefinitely, I have learned a lot about Online Marketing.

I feel that traffic exchanges aren't worth it when it comes to advertising. Think about it. When you are earning credits while surfing, are you really focused on their ads, or are you just trying to get things over with to get the credits? In my opinion, splash pages are a good idea for them. Even if the services are free, time is money. Think about what can be done in that time. Also, if anything make sure that the TE pays you to surf.  ;D

I guess the thing that makes me wonder about the accuracy of your analysis, is I am somewhat of an expert at using exchanges and spend maybe 2 or 3 seconds on most pages, BUT I TAKE ACTION ON STUFF I SEE THERE ALL THE TIME! Go Figure.

See the people that are on there are MARKETERS, but they respond to answers to problems they have when they see a good one. Make sure you have the right answer presented in a way they recognize it and you can get attention just like I do.

TE's can be beneficial but it depends on how you use them.  And not all TE's are the same.  One of the ones I use earns me TE credits, PTC credits, banner credits, text credits, free referrals, and free memberships to the site.  So, spending an hour while I watch something is worth it to me cause I get more advertising then I do on some of my other TE.  Another thing to consider is finding some that pay you to surf.  That way if your advertising doesn't pay off, you still earn a bit for all the work you're putting into it.

This reply is for Tantricia44.

Since I am relatively new to traffic exchanges, I will try my best to explain how they work.

There are many, many different Traffic Exchanges and they all work similarly.

The way they work is when you sign up you will be given a free account with a chance to upgrade your account.  A free account does not require any purchases so, I found that this is the best way to start until you get the idea on how to use them and see if it is working for you.

However, when you first sign up you will most likely be presented with an offer which is very hard to resist.  For example, a lifetime membership to one of the highest levels for one price instead of monthly fees.

In any event the way traffic exchanges work is as follows:

Your account may start with some credits.  These credits are worth visits to the site you are trying to promote.  1 credit is equal to 1 visitor to your website.

The way you earn credits is one of two ways:  Either through purchasing credits or surfing.  If you surf, you will start seeing other members ads for a set period of time.  The time could be 15 sec, 20 seconds or even 30 seconds.  After the set time has elapsed, you will be credited some fraction of a credit.  Depending upon what level membership you enrolled in, depends on the conversion rate.  It may be that 1 surf = 0.75 credits or it may be 0.33, or 0.5 or 1.0 or more.

The whole idea is that you post your ad as well through either text ads, text impressions or banners which also have a credit conversion to use.

So, what basically happens is that there may be let's say 30,000 members signed up with an equal number or more ads which are rotated based upon how many credits you assign to your ad.  So, if you assign 100 credits, your ad will be continually rotated and displayed with everyone who watches the ads views your ad until 100 visitors have seen your ad.  Then your credits will be 0 and then you start the process again.  The advantage of purchasing credits is that you may be able to get 10,000 credits for perhaps $25.00.  This means you can kind of set your ad going and not bothering to check it for a while until 10,000 visitors have seen your ad.  Every one's ads are exchanged in continual rotation, much like when products on a shop at home cable channel are advertised.
If someone is interested in your ad, clicks your ad and makes a purchase, you get a commission.

If you just go with a free account, you will have to surf a lot by clicking other members ads to earn enough credits to start posting your own ad.

Safelists are similar except you are emailing your ads to the members.  This is what I have learned in the online course.  It is true that there may be a lot of individuals with the same ad.  So, I think the key is to post a unique ad or hopefully find out what people are interested in, which is not easy.

Obviously, however, many people are successful with this, otherwise I would think that this business would have died off a long time ago.

That is my take on traffic exchanges.  If I am wrong on any points feel free to correct me as I am still learning and understanding this.
