As bad as cigarettes are, I have to agree that it is that person's choice to smoke. And the most you can do is ask them to smoke elsewhere, but that's about it. And yes, look at what happened when drinking alcohol was illegal. People kept drinking and even drank more because it was illegal.
Good point!! And also it lead to more Voilent Crime (murder, assault) and organized crime, some people say that Prohibition was the inception of the Mafia, if not, it surely let them grow into what they were in the 30's,40's,50's,60's.

I feel smoking is a personal choice..However, for those that do not smoke..I feel you should avoid the places that offer that option.

Although I cant stand the smell, I don't feel that it is my choice to decide if someone should smoke or not.

I do believe that its up to each person to make there choice to smoke or not smoke.  I smoke but trying to guit and my husband is doing the same/  We find that its difficulot when others in your family smoke. I do good most days but sometimes other days I have problems.  Some of the things I am doing is not smoking after I eat because that is my norm, same thing in the morning I usually have one but I don't.  That is a good start for me so I get out of daily routine.

Drugs and Alchohol  and guns are killing more people.  You want to ban cigarrattes why not other ones too.  We have 2 states that decided to let people smoke marjiuana.  Drugs and alcohol kill your brain cells more than cigarrattes.   We have children in this country killing each other with weapons because this country has right to bear arms.  Cigarrattes is your choice and right.  No one has the right to ask us to ban it.

I don't smoke, and I don't care to be around it though I can tolerate it if I have to.  I have friends who smoke.  Where I work a LOT of people smoke.  I don't believe it should be banned.

I dont smoke but have to disagree. To each thier own, and they outlaw smoking in public places so you and children should be away from second hand smoke.

 i smoked for well over 30 years and it was my choice. just as it was my choice to quit. this is america where we all have rights and freedom of choice. smokers should not smoke in non smoking areas and non smokers when they enter smoking areas should not complain because they chose to enter that area. case closed. have a great day!!!!

:sad1: I agree.  I smoked for years (alot of them) and felt like I couldn't quit.  Quit for several years and then started back for several years - now fnally was set free from smoking once and for all.  Thank God! I have residual breathing issues which I hope will be healed completely but I can tell you this I can't even stand to smell them when people are standing at the grocery store door.  I hate to see young people smoking because they have no idea what they might go through because of smoking.

I agree, they should be banded and I am a reform smoker.  If people could see their lungs and how black it has become from smoking, I truly believe they would quit.  I will pray for all smokers.
