In the Northern Hemisphere, the next Winter Solstice occurs on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 6:12 A.M. EST or 11:12 UTC (Universal Time).

I do not blame them! Daylight starts to increase and warm up. It means "spring is around the corner".

I'm not sure spring is around the corner here in the Northeast but it is nice to know that everyday we get a little more sunshine until June.
