does anyone use checks anymore?

I only use checks a few times a year.  Most of my bills are paid electronically on time with no late fees.  It takes years for me to use a box of check.  However, some times they are needed for places that don't accept cards.  I use a credit card for cash back rewards,  balance is paid in full each month.

I don't use checks any more, because they can be a problem.  Ink can be erased except with a particular pen.  Anyhone can sign the back of a check - banks don't really check the signature.

I have never used checks and I agree its a waste of money.  I end up paying everything with debit so I never use checks and rarely have cash.

I rarely use checks or cash.  Seems like they are both becoming things of the past.

I use checks every month to pay my rent. However, that's the only thing I use checks for these days.

I only use checks to set up direct deposits and only the rare accounts that require check payments as they offer over the phone or online payment options but charge $9-10 to use. That's like a 4th of the amount to fill my car with gas. So if I have to do that 2-4 times I have just wasted a 1/2 to full tank of gas. Now if it saves from a late fee that will cost the same or more I will pay online or phone ;-)

Yes i use a check one time a month to pay for medical stuff just a couple of items.

There are sometimes that you still have to use checks.  personally i try to pay all bills that i can online but their are some companies that charge you to pay online (stupid i know you would think they would want you to save a tree).  so in those instances i do use my checks but for the most part im a card swiper.

I only use it to pay big sums of money other then that its Credit Cards and such.

I do everything online. I think I only write one check out a year and thats to pay my property taxes.

I can't remember the last time I wrote a check . . . I am using cash and debit/credit cards . . . I receive a lot of checks.
Recently I have been reviewing using checks again for certain things.  I had an investment in a company back in 2001 that I ended up writing off of my taxes as a loss.  Well they are making a come back and the stock may become worth something again.  Lucikily I went right to my records and in short time had the cancelled check in my hands and took a picture with the iphone and sent it off.  Whoo hoo!!!!  So easy and so great.  Storing check records and checks don't take up much room even for multiple years.  So on certain things in the future, I will make a concerted effort to use checks again.

There are a few instances where I use checks--paying the rent and the water bill.

I use probably 2 checks a month, to pay small businesses that do not do the debit card thing yet.  It takes a year to go through one check book (25 checks), so I have a big supply from the last time that I had ordered checks.
