Soda or Pop? Where are you from?

I'm from Minnesota and I normally say "pop". 
"What kind of pop do you want?"
"Would you like a pop?"

I call it soda, but I feel like the rest of the younger generation does too. I think 'pop' is a cooler name though

I guess it depends where your from. I'm from california and we call it soda.

I say pop if I am being general. Often I ask for a diet cola if I want a coke or pepsi drink since many restaurants will ask if the alternate is ok if I say the wrong brand name.

I grew up with "Pop" in Central IL, but I made the switch to "soda" after moving around a lot.  In British Columbia, it's "pop" so I may be switching back.  

I find it a little hard to believe that no one from the South has chimed in to reject both of these names in favor of "coke"!

I was born in Clarksville,  TN and raised in West Point,  MS.  We use both words.

I'm from Louisiana raised in Houston so I started off with Pop to Soda Water to Soda.  Just make it cold please!!!
