Soda or Pop? Where are you from?

Her in the eastern half of NY state they call it, POP. Go to the other side of the state NYC and they call it SODA.

I'm from North Carolina and some people say soda and some say pop.  I just usually call it by whatever name of drink I am having.  For instance, Coke or Mr. Pibb or Dr. Pepper.

When I lived on the East coast it was called "soda" but now I live on the West coast and it's called "pop".

I grew up in Jersey-called soda there. Also lived in NM and now Ca-called soda in both places.

I'm originally from New York and we call it "soda."  Been living in Arizona for many years now, and we still call it "soda."  Only people I know who call it "pop" are those from the midwest.

While we're all having fun with "soda pop," how about this one?

I hear people here in Texas saying soda but I'm like the person from N.C., I call it by Coke, Pepsi or Dr. Pepper.  My Dad and his family were yankees (Ohio) and they always called it pop.

I am from Wisconsin and we always called it "pop."  Where did soda come from anyway?  I use that in my baking!
