Soda or Pop? Where are you from?

I've lived in Ohio all my life and have always said Pop!

I'm from New England and it's strictly soda up here!

I'll never forget ordering a soda at the restaurant in Disney World when I was a kid, only to have the waitress look at me oddly for a second before saying "Do you mean tonic?" hahahaha

Here in Michigan we say pop!

I'm from Minnesota, and we call it "pop"... I live in Tennessee where my husbands family is, and boy, I definitely stick out in public when we go out and I order a pop to drink!

Yes, same here in VA, I'm from a small town in OH so I've always said Pop, moved to VA and it is so not the norm, some people know what it means but others look at you like your crazy

Where I'm from, soda and pop are two different types of carbonated drink. "Pop" is the fruit flavored ones and "soda" are the ones like Coke, Pepsi and Root-beer. I don't drink either- all carbonated drinks make me burp like a man haha

i live in illinois and we call it pop usually but other times soda it doesnt really matter to me

I call it soda...I'm from Brooklyn New york and thats just what we all call it...and everytime I go on vacation people would look at me like I was nuts for calling it soda and not "pop"

Weird that people would think you're not for preferring to call someone one name instead of the other. I call it soda but when I was younger I used to call it pop because it was just easier to say. You know, back when it wasn't crazy for young kids to drink soda. Now I really wish I hadn't but now I've stopped drinking it and I think I'm a lot healthier now.

Colorado - we call it pop here. Then I moved to Texas and it is always called coke, even if it is a pepsi.

I live in Florida and call it soda.  My mom sometimes calls it pop, and she grew up in Missouri.

I'm from Chicago. We call it pop. I remember being in Mexico and my family from Texas laughing at us because we called it pop. Haha
