I think that life, itself, has so much to teach all of us.  I believe that if I had chosen to have my kids tour the world with me from grade five through ten that they would have been far more educated then kids who had been confined to a class room.  So much emphasis is placed on getting an education and not enough on using it.  I had a double bachelors and the only time that it came in handy was when a bank asked to see a copy of my degree. Really? Bachelor's degrees are great for making connections that may get you into a better job. Post graduate helps hone and put your focus into play so that you actually utilize your education.  There are plenty of people out there that are cutting lawns/selling snacks that don't have a degree and are far happier then me...currently working between 80-100 hours per week.

You are obviously a smart cookie because what you say makes alot of sense!  This world has gotten tough to compete even for a job that doesn't require a degree because you are interviewing against those that do have a degree.  Too many times they throw out great candidates just be eliminating by educational degrees.  And to many times a degree does not make someone qualified because they have not "used" that education to learn and missed out on experiences.  Sometimes it does feel like common sense has been thrown out the window and unfortunately they don't seem to teach that in a course.  I bet you have found ways to give your kids experiences outside the classroom.  Being a great parent isn't easy and the parent can be the best teacher especially when the kids don't even realize they are being taught!   Kudos to you.  A balanced view on life and happiness and goals, educational or otherwise, is a great lesson.  On my death bed, I won't say I wish I had worked more hours or had more stuff or more money -- I will be grateful for my time with my family and wish I had more time with them.

I think it's GREAT that you did that! I may try and find time to finish school and get my bachelors more for myself than anything...

Thank you for waiting. Sometimes you cannot learn everything in life sitting down in a classroom.

Good for you!  I went to college after high school so I got my education out of the way early.  I probably would have done better had I waited until I was more mature.  One word of advice, do some research on the labor market for your chosen degree.
