how long are you prepared for an emergency 1 week 2 week?

just looking at new york they went to long of a time with no help so did new orleans when hurricane katrina hit  we were just stocking up a bit but now am wondering if we need to stock up for a few months just in case its hard to stock up with food being so expensive

We've probably got enough canned goods and dry beans stored up to last 3 months but don't really have a good way to store any water.  We try to keep our canned goods rotated to keep them from going out of date.  We also have a good bit of ammo stored up just in case it would ever get to the point where people would try to take stuff from us.  We are not fanatical about it; just don't want to be caught off guard in the event of any kind of emergency.

I believe that we have enough stuff to last two weeks.

I have a survival kit with a ton of stuff i was able to piece together including a radio, emergency blankets, flashlight and some food bars. I keep it in a nice backpack in case i ever need it.
