im no preparing for anything ive just had alot of issues with my weight up an down kinda thing an the crazy thing is i dont eat alot at all i just drin alot of cook but after my last baby its just been a struggle to get it off an keep it off plus obesity runs in my family so  :( idi tell u guys how much i weight but im a shame i just wanna be healthy for my self an my kids i love all the feed back an will try all of u guys feed back thanks :)

I agree with all the good advice you are getting. Another good tip is to go to bed with an empty stomach. Don't eat after 7pm. Exercise in the morning before you eat anything. Just drink water, tea, or coffee.

the easiest way is to eat clean. cut out all those junk food and you'll see a difference in a few months!
also, drink tons of water! about 4 bottles a day.

if you really want to lose some weight, i recommend doing pilates.
go on youtube and watch "blogilates" 's videos! they work great and you can do it right at home!
there's this monthly calendar that she gives out on her blog that can really help you stay on track to your diet and exercise.
just watch at least one of her videos  :dontknow:

Eat 1/4 less food from what you normally eat, eat 1/2 less junk food and do some light exercise.

Get moving! Brisk walk at least 30 to 45 minutes a day. Also you can rev up your metabolism even more by eating 6 very small meals a day. In other words, if you eat 3 times a day now, convert that same amount into 6 meals. If you now eat portions that are large, make them smaller. Even totally elimimating sugar from your diet will drop pounds too. Good Luck! :thumbsup:

i tried the south beach diet. it really works for me. i lost pounds right away in the stomach area.

After 2 kids, I'm 20lbs over my regular weight. so now i'm eating less.

Great advice! I added the Breville juicer to my wish list, I keep hearing of all the benefits of juicing and I'm so attracted to living a healthy lifestyle.

I also agree with having weight loss buddies.  I had one but she wasn't serious, which could've been discouraging but I just cut her out of my journey and starting doing it on my own.  30 lbs down, 10 lbs to go.

Don't know if this works, but sounds like it will.  Before you start, get a journal and document your daily routine counting calories you currently eat and the exercise you already do for a week or two.  Then, go online and search BMR calculator, which will give you your Basal Metabolic Rate (basically what you'd burn if you did nothing all day).  You then take your BMR number and multiply it based on your current level of activity (Harris Benedict Equation, generally found on the BMR page or a link somewhere) to give you an idea of the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight. 

Now you can adjust your intake without completely starving yourself and add some exercise without wiping yourself out.  1200 calories may be too few calories depending on your body, this gives you a number that may be easier to achieve and, more importantly, easier to maintain for the long run.  It may not be completely accurate, but it gives a general guideline to start with and adjust as you go.  You may find out that your intake is fine and just adding 10 minutes of exercise is enough for you to lose weight.


One good way is to juice your fruits and veggies.  You digest liquids faster, so any exercise you do goes straight to your body.  Plus, by reducing them to liquids, you can take in way more veggies and fruits than you normally could. 

Also, if you don't like traditional exercises, figure out what intrigues you and do that.  I get bored doing tradition exercises.  However, playing soccer or volleyball gets me moving.  And I can do Just Dance or Dance Central for hours without noticing how long I've been going.  You don't have to just walk or just run to lose weight, you just need to do something that keeps you moving.

Don't expect to lost immediately.  I went up 10 pounds before things starting going in the other direction.  Consider weight yourself once a week instead of every day at first so you don't get discouraged at the lack of progress.

Get others to do it with you.  It is so hard to lose weight when others keep tempting you with treats or when they are watching your favorite show while you have to go for a walk.

Cut back on alcohol if you drink it.  It's mostly empty calories with little, if any, substance.

Give yourself a snack.  If you want ice cream, have a small bowl of it.  Totally cutting out those things can make you upset about doing this "diet," which makes you less likely to want to continue.

Plan meals if you don't already.  It's really frustrating to want to eat something and yet you have nothing in the house but a bag of potato chips.  Either make and freeze some food or figure out a few different things you can make with certain ingredients and make sure to pick those up when you go shopping.  I don't know about you, but I'm more incline to have a salad if I don't have to cut up everything for it.

If you only need to lose a "few pounds" you're fortunate.  Cut down on sugars and fats, then increase your activity level, and you should lose the weight.

My boyfriend is trying to lose weight and he thought if he skipped meals he would lose weight but he ended up gaining even more. It is important to eat three meals a day and eat at least three snacks in between. Protein fueled meals like fish peanut butter and lean meats really help.

Your boyfriend is definitely doing it wrong because your body is looking for fuel to substain itself and if one stops eating, the body stores any and all foods as fat.  So your boyfriend should eat 3 healthy meals with smaller portions to lose weight.

Like the rest of the folks here, excerise and make smart choices about when & what to eat.
