yes, it sure is frustrating. I finally could not take it so took some sleep gels and then got to sleep..Sometimes listening to something like guided meditaions and cd's that were made to help you fall asleep helps.  I am continually getting my days and nights mixed up.

I know some people take a natural supplement, melatonin, to help them sleep. It's available at any local drug store and it's an addictive substance like sleep medications can be for some people. If you consistently have trouble falling asleep, you should look into it and see if it helps!

Melatonin works for some people.  I felt groggy when I'd get up in the morning though even after cutting down on the dose.  I finally settled on taking half of one Tylenol PM if I wasn't feeling sleepy by 10:30 so I could get to bed before midnight.  I also listen to certain types of music without lyrics that are just kind of relaxing as I fall asleep.

If I cant sleep, I just close my eyes, and start thinking about the boring classes that I took at school. I go  to sleep sooner than I expected.

I've had insomnia for years and years.  So, I feel your pain when it comes to not being able to sleep.  =-P

I'm kinda in the other camp...half the time I can't even make it to the news.  I get really frustrated when that happens.  I get up very early and get my son to school and have the mornings for gardening.  But by the time supper rolls around and get the clean-up done from that I'm ready for bed!!! :-

I have heard that turkey is high in tryptophan, which promotes sleep.  Reading or watching TV always makes me doze, but it doesn't last through the night. I used to work evenings and am back on days now.  It really screws up my body clock.

I sometimes, but not always will take an over the counter sleep aid. I also will listen to some music sometimes to help me relax and go to sleep. I have heard that drinking a glass of red wine can help people go to sleep.
