How many in your family and how much do you spend on food (groceries, eating out) each month?

I try to stay within a budget. But once in a while i will go over and then there are days like today i don't spend as much. We have a distribution center here now where the pack up and ship food all over. But on saturday they have a farmers market. Boy can you buy produce cheap. I spent $17.75 and came away with 10lbs potatoes, 2 heads lettuce, cauliflower romano lettuce, avacados, limes,a dozen fresh apples, large yams, and several other items. A laundry basket and a produce box full. Oh what a day. There was over 100 peopl in ine when we got there  and about that many more showed up afterwards. Had a ball and ran into a lot of old friends.

I have four people in my family: Two teenagers and a wife(and two dogs). I recently analyzed our monthly budget on everything and was able to scale back about eighteen hudred dollars on unnecessary expenditure with about three hundred of those dollars coming from groceries. I spend one hundred dollars at costco per week and one hundred dollars at Krogers per week(with five percent of the amount spent being put back, by Krogers, to my daughter's soccer expense account). We generally only spend, now, about eighty a week at Krogers and only go to Costco every other week-still keeping under one hundred dollars. Planning meals helps a ton!

I spend about 200.00 a month on food, that is just for myself. Its about 50.00 every week it averages out but I always have food left over. I like to buy what I like to eat when its on sale and stock up.

only 2 of us now,,,,,,,  we spend about  50 a week.  we like to grill so we are always getting something good to throw on it.    if we didn't grill all the time we would probably spend less lol    we have a garden so thats where we get our veggies  so the rest of the items are just odds that we need

Ok, what I am getting from this is that I spend entirely too much both eating out and buying groceries.  :crybaby2:

There are four in my family; my husband, my grandson, his brother and me.  My grocery limit is $200 a month, and my husband likes to buy snacks, so we manage to spend money from time to time.  I am waiting for my daughter to get a car and pick up my grandson before his birthday next month, and then it will be down to 3 again. :-[

I don't know by the month, but I bet we are probably around $70 a week for me and my 7 year old. I don't budget or even do one big shopping trip a month, I'm at the store a few times a week.

That's about right. Researchers says the average family spends about $200 per person per month
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

Their is just of us here I think I spend way to Much.  I'm going to set a goal for the two hundred apiece and see how that works for us.
