i like the smaller shops because you always feel good buying from them the big stores are ok but all they do is push you buy things you don't really need

I try to buy from local small businesses, but at times the price is too good to pass up at the bigger stores.

I shop mostly at the bigger stores, because they have better prices.  But my husband likes to go to our local country store to get caught up on the news.  He goes twice every day to get a green tea.  The store owner knows all the news around the county.

typically the bigger stores, but this time of year i love to go to the farmers markets. We are also talking about buying a whole cow, going in with one or two other families. thats a lot of red meet.

It depends on what it is because many of the little stores around here jack up the cost so much that I'd rather save money by going to chain stores

Well, I'm a little store owner of a small town vidoe rental store.
We Do Appreciate your business more than you will know.
Small stores, in your town, keep your community running with tax dollars
and donations to the local charities.
The small stores, in my town have very competive prices.
I will never understand the argument of shopping at a larger store,
which is located 5 to 10 miles away, to save money.  The time you
waste and the gas you use makes shopping in town more sensible to me.
(I may be biased)  :dontknow:

Around here there aren't many of the mom and pop stores but when I was  younger we had several that we went to and they treated us like family. You don't get that when you shop at the larger stores.

I like the "homey" feel of the mom & pop stores although you usually can get better deals for your money at the bigger stores.
Have a wonderful day!

I shop at either store, but when I want to feel homey and neighborly, I shop at the smaller stores.  I shop at the larger stores when I am looking at a true bargain.

My city has 5 Walmarts and 3 Targets and that's just in the actual city limits. There are also stores in the smaller towns around that have one each. That's not counting all the other discount chain stores like all the dollar stores. My city only has like 50,000 people so it's not some huge place either. I guess if you do like in a smaller town it wouldn't make sense to travel but I'd rather go that extra 10 minutes to save money

50,000 people is a good size town.
I come from a town of maybe 4000.  There are chain stores located in every direction from me.
But, the chain store doesn't donate to my local little league or support the school band - it's local small businesses that foot that bill with donations.
I'm not gonna drive 6 miles to save .50 cents on a loaf of bread with gas at $4.00 a gallon.  Maybe it's just me.

I don't like crowds and standing in line so I seek out smaller stores with good prices. They are few and far between though. I buy most of my things on eBay.

I buy most of my stuff online.  Walmart ships for free if you buy $45.00 or more most times.  Amazon.com seems to have just about anything you'll ever need and most stuff ships for free if you belong to Amazon Prime, its great.
For anything else or special or need right away, I go to small stores, don't like crowds.  lol
