I have trouble getting to sleep at night, but I think it is tied to the prescription medication I take.  Some of them make me sleepy in the daytime, so I fall asleep and it's hard to wake up.  Then I can't go to sleep at night.  As for advice in your case, I would talk to a doctor about it.  I think that is the only way you will get some definite answers.

tell your doctor and he might
have you evaluated by sleep study
which in turn will help your problem
and find the answers and cause

Ever since I was about 20 and lived on my own I have had these crazy sleep patterns.  My body want to wake up early and then take a nap around 5 pm and the get up until about 3 am.  No matter what I do, that seems to be my natural rhythm.  Everyone says it is bad for me and that it is unhealthy, but I just feel like that is how my clock works.  Instead of fretting about it, I just try to go with it.  I have a few work at home jobs that allow me to work anytime day or night, that is part of the reason I accepted them.  I am getting ready to start a full time job that will start around 12 noon five days a week, so not sure how that will go, but I need the benefits and money.

My mom always tries to lay a guilt trip on me if she calls and I am sleeping around 5, so I used to feel guilty about it.  In reality I work very long hours and I work 7 days a week.  So what, if my awake hours don't meet with her approval.

I used to be bothered by it, but just started watching late night TV and discovered that I enjoyed it more than prime time anyway.

For people who have to keep up with 9-5 insomnia is miserable.  I just try to make my life fit around when my body tells me to rest.

I've had a problem with sleep disorders for many years.  I found an ear, nose and throat specialist who had me do a sleep study to determine how he could help me.  He diagnosed me with obstructive sleep apnea because I wasn't getting enough oxygen when I slept. He had me use a CPAP mask every night for a while but that ended up being a joke, for me.  Finally, he removed my tonsils.

There are a lot of things that can contribute to insomnia; physical health problems, inflammation and pain, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, stress, etc.

I would contact someone who can do a sleep study.   Then you can go from there.
Have a great day!

Is it insomnia or irregular sleep patterns? Every month, if I don't stick to a sleep schedule that is, I stay up all night and sleep during the day. I've been trying to sleep at night for weeks with no success. I just lay there and I'm not able to fall asleep until 4 or 5 AM. But if it is insomnia some stuff I've tried is just some OTC sleeping meds, melatonin, sleepytime tea, and bananas. Sometimes insomnia can be caused by some nutritional deficiency and bananas have nutrients like magnesium to help you sleep. Hope this helps you.

Try a magnesium drink before bed.  And a towel over your clock so you can see no light.  while you wait to see the doctor.

I've only maybe encountered insomnia a couple of times.  Generally I have no problems sleeping.  In fact some might say I sleep to much.  This summer my sleep patterns were completely flip flopped.  And there were 2 or 3 nights a week where I just couldn't seem to fall asleep.  I was to tired to be productive in actually doing anything else though.  Last night I had the opposite problem.  I wanted to stay up.  I fell asleep sitting straight up...  Than when I finally gave up and crawled in bed I slept for nearly 12 hours straight.

I sometimes have problems falling asleep, but not as bad as i use to. I usually, but not every night take an over the counter sleep aid.

Insomnia can be a serious problem, and I speak from experience here. However, it was because of insomnia that I found Fusion Cash in the first place. I deal with my insomnia by filling my time with periods of relaxed busy work- such as surveys on FC- so at the very least my body is at some state of rest.
Also, yoga or the like can really help to ease the stress in the body, making it easier to relax during intense periods of insomnia.

I usually only have trouble sleeping when my mind is pre-occupied.
And I know you have probably heard it before, but exercising does help.
Take a walk in the early evening then formulate a nightly routine.
Be sure it is dark and quiet.
