I started at about age 6. In Samoa,, men do the cooking.. So it was hard work. There wasn't any electric range or stove we had to cook by building a fire. So the women was forbidden because it requires a lot of hard work. Gathering woods for fire, going to the plantation to gather foods like: bananas, taro, and breadfruits, fishing, and even roasting a pig in the underground oven requires a lot of work. etc. So it was a worthwhile sacrifice because I can pretty much cook anything my wife and kids would like to eat. I also find some of the best recipes and cooking on youtube.

I leared when I was a young man at home from my mother . who thought u to do it.
I didn't really learn to cook until I was in my 40's. I could cook from a box or make a hamburger, but I really did not get good until later in life. NOw that my hubby has cancer, I do all the cooking everyday. I experiment with different receipes and have fun with food. I love to eat!

When I was younger because of how my family was structured.  I would say between ages of 14-18.  I had to cook a lot on my own - chicken recipies, pasta, breakfast meals (omelettes, scrambled, pancakes, etc.), stuffed peppers, chicken parm, desserts, etc.

I never really did to learn to cook.  I should learn from my hubby as he does all the cooking. I just try to assist him in preping once in awhile.  The only thing I make is eggs and steak.

I didn't eat much of anything until I fell in love. I asked my mom how to cook fried chicken and mashed potatoes because that's almost the only thing I ever ate as a child. That and chocolate ice-cream or chocolate pudding.

I no longer have the problem. I love all food and I like to cook. So there is always hope.

I'd say I was around 13. I baked bread in my home ec class. I started to do more cooking when I was 19 and I cooked at the nursing home I worked at. I really became better after I got my nutrition degree. I took culinary classes and I learned so much.

My mother taught me the basics when I was a teenager at home, but I really learned the most by trial and error on my own when I was a young housewife.

My mom taught me how to cook. She always had me help her cook when I was little so I would learn how to do it.

I was 11 years old when I started to cook dinners for my sisters and brothers. My mother had to work, and she taught me how to cook .     I had my daughters and son to start at a early age to cook.

My mom showed me a little, mostly by watching and trial and error

I used to always watch my daddy cook as a little girl and when I was in Brownies is the first time I made rice krispy treats. I still cook but I much prefer to bake then cook.

My mom taught me how to cook when I was a kid. Meaning, how to measure dry and liquid, read a recipe, convert as necessary and adjust for high altitude.

However, I really don't like to cook, so I don't. It is so time consuming.
