I have never gotten a flu shot and don't think I want to. Last year my Mom got one and wasn't feeling so well for a few days after.

Same here. Never really saw any need.

I never get a flu shot, anymore.  I drink a lot of yarrow tea which is an herb that's considered anti-viral.  I also put a lot of garlic in my system.

Have a great day!

I never take the 'flu vaccination and seldom get the 'flu.  A friend had the shot earlier this week and broke out in welts that resembled measles (not to mention a very sore arm).

I haven't had mine yet, but plan to get one soon. I think they're a very good idea. Better to risk a little discomfort than deal with the flu.

I got mine two days ago and it was covered by our insurance so I paid nada, or -0- for others...

Hi,
I have never had a flu shot.  I will not get a flu shot.  My system is fragile and I don't want to have a reaction to it.

I don't go to get flu shots.  I got the shot once and then a couple of days later, I got sick and did get the flu.  So I don't believe in getting the flu shot.

Yes World Health Organization says its not an active virus therefore there are no risks besides being sore at the location of the flu shot injection. But I too heard from many  others who say they caught the flu a few days after getting the shot so I refused to get my shot for many years. And I was fine, never got the flu. Then one year I caught it and was really sick for a month  :crybaby2: It was horrible! The Flu is the worst! I said to myself never again and I get my shot every year now in late oct early nov. but I still think there should be a more natural way to vaccinate ourselves.

I never get a flu shot, anymore.  I drink a lot of yarrow tea which is an herb that's considered anti-viral.  I also put a lot of garlic in my system.

Researching that Yarrow Tea next....

I got one and forgot all about it.  I had no reaction, I think last year was a little more of a reaction.  Hopefully everything will be fine again this year.

Yeah, I just got my kids vaccined with the flu shot. Thankfully they were doing the nasal mist vaccine at my kids' elementary school and it's very convenient doing it that way.  The only thing I was a bit miffed about is that I completed the medical questionnaires, as you do. My youngest son has an allergy to Peanuts and also has an inhaler for asthma. The school gave my son the nasal mist and only then did they read his medical questionnaire. My son has only been diagnosed with Asthma this year and I didn't realise that these kids can't have the nasal mist as it can trigger an asthma attack!  Well, I didn't know this, but they did!  I was annoyed that they didn't read the questionnaire before administering the nasal mist.

Id rather take the chance of getting the flu than getting the shot.

I had to get a flu shot every year for a long time due to my work. Now that I am not working where I have to get it, I don't get it.

My ENT agrees with me. It's not the best idea for everyone. After all, it only covers a few strains of the flu virus. What are the chances that you will be exposed to only those viruses for which you have been vaccinated?  :confused1:

If you're not a high risk person (such as heart disease or a compromised immune system) and do not live with a high risk person, I would not bother with it.

i havent gotten the flu shot in a few years the idea scares me considering seeing in the news about the people who have died and the awful side effects some have had when given the thing. No one could pay me to get one of those
