I have spoken to everyone in my dinner party.  Everyone is going to bring a dessert and I will do everything else.  Walmart had a turkey-printed tablecloth, turkey-printed napkins, very large turkey-printed dinner and dessert paper plates.  I must say I have a turkey fiesta table.

Nope not even a little. My usual plans are not happening this year, so there isnt much celebration. I cant believe it is right around the corner either. Need to get some items from the store I suppose.

Usually my husband invites everybody from his work that wants to come over, who doesn't  have anywhere to go or who just wants a hot meal or just wants a bit of family company for the holidays. Sometimes we have guests, sometimes we don't. I said to my husband just today that if they want to come over and even just collect a hot meal and go (perhaps they don't want to socialise, I don't know) that would be okay. Just tell me the time to get the hot meal ready and I'll have it to go. The next thing I know is that my husband comes home from work with a free 15lb turkey (supplied and paid for by his employer) together with cherry pies, potatoes, green beans, gravy, bread rolls. I couldn't believe how generous they were to pay for it all. How nice is that?

Totally ready for it.  We're short of people lately but we do the best we can to celebrate this year.

:turkey: :turkey:  I cannot believe it is already here.   I always look forward to  it.  We have a pretty big family and every body brings something.  I am doing the turkey, stuffing and banana pudding.  We do Thanksgiving at my sister's and Christmas at my house.   It always turns out fabulous.  I like a no stress holiday.  No gifts just everyone getting together to enjoy each other.  I like that it is an all American holiday, everyone celebrates no matter what religion or how much money or where they are from.   We DO NOT SHOP on Thanksgiving.     We play board games, watch football.  I    :turkey:!!!!!!!

My daughter got a turkey from her work but we are going to my other daughters for Thanksgiving it's been a tradition now for about 5 yrs. My two daughters are 10 yrs apart and where we are going she is the oldest so I trust her cooking lol but usually her husband does all the cooking. It is always very good.

I can plan to have everything done on time, but I  know I still will be running around until the last minute.  It will  be worth it, spending time with my family.

I bought everything to cook Thanksgiving day and will start doing some of the cooking tomorrow.  I'll bake the pies, make the conjealed salad, bake the cornbread, fix a veggie casserole and a few other things tomorrow.  I always save the actual dressing, giblet gravy and a few other dishes till Thursday.  It'll be a lot of food but I enjoy the end result of all my cooking.  Everybody goes home with leftovers too!
