I grew up on Shirley Temple movies.  I had a Shirley Temple "paper" doll made out of thick cardboard with paper clothes that were attached with plastic thumb tacks that fit into holes on the doll.  My mom kept my hair short and curly like Shirley's.  Ugh!  I liked her movies when I was little, but today they're just bad memories.

She did make a significant contribution to the movie industry, and the world.  I remember "Animal Crackers in my Soup" and "On The Good Ship Lollipop" and her tap dancing along side the adult actors.

Thanks for letting us know about her passing.  She was an absolute favorite of mine as a child.  I saw all her movies.  I can only remember one title, Heidi.  I also remember her song, "On the Good Ship Lollipop."  What a gifted little child star! :o

I just recalled that she became a political diplomat for the USA.
She was a US Ambassador to other countries.   I don't recall which ones - guess now fusioncash search would be my friend.

I know there are plenty of young people in this forum; however, some of us might remember the child star named Shirley Temple.  She was an adorable little, curly haired girl who made many people smile.

She just passed away at her home in Woodside, California at the age of 85.

Do you have a favorite Shirley Temple movie?  Do you remember her?
She was an excellent actress  and human

I always thought that Shirley Temple (lol like most of the world) was absolutely the most adorable little girl I had ever seen.  It is hard to picture her as an 85 year old woman - she lived a full life I guess and 85 is a ripe age to live to I suppose.  I think I'll see if any of her movies are on Netflix.

Oh yes, I remember her. Those adorable curls and that smile! My favorite song was the Good Ship Lollipop. I don't remember all the names of the movies, but I think that she even played Hedi.

I was born after her TV career, but now that I see old clips of her show, I can see how people would love her
