This Season of American Idol

I've been a fan of American Idol since it began.  Every season of the show is a different flavor because of changes that take place.

This year I'm very pleased with the judges.  They seem to bring out the best in each other and they all understand that the show isn't about them.

I am; however, disappointed in the contestants this year. 

Do you watch the show?  What are your thoughts about the judges and contestants, this season?

I agree with you, sherryinutah.  The season is running great with the mixed personalities of the judges, but there just has not been that one hot talent that has been truly star ready or one really wow performance.  No one is really coming out and dominating the stage.  When we are down to the final 8, we should not be hearing the judges telling them that they are "beginning to come out of that shell" or "beginning to come into their own".  There has not really been a week that keeps me on edge from vote night to elimination night - but overall, I will say if I have to choose one of these kids I guess I am calling myself a Jessica fan.

Have not watched it for a few years now. IMO the newer ones X-Factor and The Voice have passed it by.

I haven't watched it this season.  I would watch it when it first started.  I was more or less surprised that people would tell the contestants they could sing and, for the most part, some of them could, while others sounded like a cat singing off key.

I agree, I think the judges are great and they compliment each other really well. I think their criticisms are spot on most of the time. I'm a little bit surprised at Hard Hat Harry. Until now, I thought he was a quiet, soothing singer but he's been surprisingly harsh with some of the contestants. I don't know if he's trying to take on the role of Simon Cowell but it's taken him down a peg or too in my opinion.

Penwior is right about Harry.  I'm surprised at how he can critical at times.  It seems like he is trying to be like Simon.  I have to agree about the judges, much better than last years!

I like Harry.  He's nothing like Simon. What's the point of having judges, if they don't give constructive criticism.  I'm not that psyched about the talent. There are some strong voices, but the their stage presence seems to be lacking.

I can't agree with you more. The judges seem really good this year, but I haven't been all that impressed with the talent. It only seems so so and just hasn't interested me as much.

I too like the judges this year, although I do miss Randy Jackson as a judge.  I disagree on the contestants.  I think they are all very talented.

i love the judges this year,,,,,  although none of the contestants this year have gave me any goose bumps.   I just can't seem to find that one person that makes me want to come back to the show every week.    The show has changed this year and i don't seem to like it as much.

This season of American Idol is boring.  I stopped watching.

I stopped after watching a few seasons. It seemed like it was repetitive for me for some reason. I'm not sure why. Sorry.

I use to see American Idol, but haven't for a couple of seasons.
