The best advice is to try a trial version first.
Then you can make up your mind on how each one fits you.
With the Roku you can try a lot of things.  I love my Roku

Actually, I do enjoy Hulu more.  I even like the commercials--break to use the bathroom or get a drink what ever.  I think Hulu  has better original programming.  Also just better shows in general.  Old shows like Dark Shadows.  Love it.

We are thinking about giving up Directv as they have had another rate increase and its hard for us to justify spending over $100 for basic service (plus local channels).  We are kinda thinking about using Netflix or Hulu through the internet and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these that you could share with me.  I'm mainly concerned with watching series like Grey's Anatomy, CSI, etc. but of course movies would be a bonus.  Thanks for any input you have on this subject.
Tough choice,  but id choose  HULU PLUS

Hulu is awful because there's ads even when you have Plus. Definitely go with Netflix.

I  have Netflix. I was going to get a Hulu plus account, but I thought it was redundant. Netflix has a great variety of programs. If I want to catch up on current episodes I'll use Hulu.

I enjoy Netflix a lot better because they don't have commercials as does hulu but hulu i like because it has a lot of more recent series available.

I think that nextfilx and hulu combined have helped to kind of phase out dish network and direct tv i can get alot more for my money on those two sites than i do with dish or direct tv.

I have Netflix, streaming only. Been with them for 6-7 years. I don't use them that much, but enough that I don't mind paying the $8 a month. Don't know anything about Hulu.

I just disconnected my DISH last week as the rate increase yet again and I was so sick of the lousy programming. I live on a fixed income and only can afford basic service. I have never tried Net Flix or Hulu but will give it some thought. Never heard of Roku.

I tried Hulu and my son still has it, but I really don't like the commercials so I use Netflix. I stream it with a Roku3, but I wish I had waited a while to get the new Roku Streaming at half the price and no box. I really like the Roku2 though, so maybe it's worth the difference for the greater speed.

I an SO glad I got rid of cable and saved over $100 a month. I also have an HDTV antenna to get all the local stations for FREE.

We have Netflix over here and we love it. Netflix has a great rate per month. I pay only $6.99 per month. And Netflix you can watch any movie of your choice

A Roku is just a box that streams media from the internet to your tv, so if you don't have a smart tv or if you have an older analog tv - you can still get the internet to your tv.
It allows you to download tons of free apps, other than Netflix or Hulu, where you can stream all kinds of movies.   If you know what appleTV is, it is very similar to that.
