May the 4th be with you, JediJohnnie!  What do you think about the new Star Wars movie they are getting ready to film?  Do you agree with having some of the old stars back?

I think it's great!I hope they give the original cast most of the focus.I've been waiting since I was 8 y/o for the further adventures of Luke Skywalker!

I saw this.  When did this start?  I don't remember this in past years.  Is it new to promote the new movie?  I hate the idea of a new movie without George Lucas by the way.

I think it's been around the past couple years,it's only gotten more press this year due to the upcoming episode 7.

Yeah,I wish Lucas was more involved.Supposedly they are using his "outline",but Lucas has contended that he really had no solid storyline for episodes 7,8 & 9 and that his story revolved around "The tragedy of Darth Vader".Once that was completed,he hadn't enough material to make a complete trilogy.

I was intrigued by your question, although I had heard of it for a few years now, so I knew that it couldn't have been a promo for the new movie / trilogy. But I would never have guessed its origin. I guess Margaret Thatcher took office on 5/4/1979, and so her political party took out a congratulatory ad in The London Evening News saying "May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations." (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Day). After that, the fandom took it from there, esp. after the internet allowed that unofficial holiday to be passed around the globe.

Oh, and BTW, I hope you didn't celebrate too hard yesterday to get Revenge of the 5th (although as I heard elsewhere, today is Cinco de Mayo and tomorrow is Revenge of the 6th).
