Mine is sure not as good as it used to be.  I've been making lists and notes for a good many years; even before I retired.  A few years ago I got my husband trained to making notes and lists too.  He doesn't think his memory is as bad as mine but it really is.  lol

Yes, my memory is as sharp as it used to be.  There are always things I reminisce about and smile, and other memories I  choose not to remember, but they always are there.  I guess that remembering things indicate that you have some sense of normalcy.  I like remembering things, and when I talk to my favorite aunt who lives in Cleveland, she enjoys remembering with me.  There are things I didn't know about, but she did.  I never knew I had chickenpox as a child, but she remembers it fondly.   :rose:

I can't remember anything anymore. I went through a very stressful time in my life about 10 years a go and since then I have very little memory of many things. I think I shut out a lot.

No, my memory is not as good as it used to be and I'm just in my 40's.  But I believe part of the problem is - I have too much on my mind and want to do too much.  Another is lack of sleep.

Not at all.  I have to play memory games when I park my car at the mall.

Not at all! And I'm only 41!! LOL! I think when your mind is active all day you tend to lose your short term memory BUT if you don't keep your mind active, that's when you lost your long term memory and possible Alzheimer kicks in. Sad but true! I will opt to have an active mind as long as I am alive!   :glasses-nerdy:

I am thankful to say that my memory is still pretty much intact at 58. I keep my mind active by reading, doing crosswords and watching educational documentaries on TV. I did read somewhere recently that we do have a tendency to not remember things as we get older because as the hours, days, months and years go by, we are storing more and more into our memory banks so there is much more to sift through as we grow older.

Wait, what was the topic? I don't remember.

This is a good one! I think sometime memory can be improved by playing memory card. I need to focus on a certain thing in order not to forget.

No.  But I think it is because as a whole we have so much on our minds these days.  We also do not have to remember things.  Every one has a phone.  And even the simple dumb phones allow you to save phone numbers, dates, notes, and a ton of other things.

I am not as sharp as I was in my 20"s but then my body isn't either. I write notes all the time. but I got stared doing that 30 years ago working in s retail, catalog store and I worked in  customer service mainly solving problems on factory orders. But I still manage to say 1 step ahead of my dad and hubby.
