I have to vote for cats.  I have to disagree about cats ignoring and not loving.  Most obvious example recently all over tv & the internet, Tara the cat protecting her little 4 year old owner from a vicious dog attack and running off the dog.  Really just like people all cats & dogs are all individuals.

I'm definitely a "cat" person but, I'm more of an "everyone" person, LOL.  I've had many pets over my lifetime - from Pacu (and they were definitely pets because they LOVED to be petted!) - to Parrots, to Turtles, to dogs, to cats, to Hermit Crabs.  I've even been known to care for birds that fell out of nests to Boat Tailed Grackles that were wounded in parking lots.  I'm a sucker for a lost dog or kitty and if your animal is wearing a collar with ID tags, I guarantee you'll hear from me if I found them.  I just love ALL animals and feel like it's our responsibility to look out for them.

I can honestly say that I am a cat person. they are less trouble than dogs and I do not have to take my cat on any daily walks.

I really like both  &  , but dogs you have to take them to the park or outside to play often. My dog enjoy to have a car ride with me.

Cat you can leave them at home all day and still have them curl up on your love for loving.  and they potty in a bid and you don't have to walk them.  Cat
