postal service route
« on: July 15, 2014, 06:20:46 am »
if you were a letter carrier, would you prefer to be on the route where your mother lived or would you rather not?
I know a retired letter carrier who preferred not. She would occasionally help out the letter carrier on the route.
I would think it might be a distraction.

Depends if the route will be faster and efficient. My mail carrier always comes around either 3-5 most of the time

Why not?  You're working it's not like you have to stop and chat every time you deliver mail to her house.

I don't think it would matter if my mother lived on my mail route if I were the postal carrier.  I would deliver the mail to her box and say hi if she were standing there, but would keep moving down the street delivering my mail because I would be at work.

Visiting mom would have to wait til after work.

I used to be a letter carrier but I took a route that was not near my home. I preferred to be alone so I could do my job well. Besides I don't think anyone is allowed to take along any one else.
