You do not have to go look for it.  Why would anybody say this as a joke? It is all over the news, internet, radio, and pretty much all anybody is talking about.  I can assure you it is not a joke.

countrygirl12, Some sick people have created hoaxes (and I think one was about Robin Williams some years ago) and put them on Facebook and other social networks.  Why?  I guess they are just that - sick.  So I don't blame Lindaroof for being skeptical.  I'm sure she has heard it on the news by now.

So very sad.  I lost a dear friend, who was like a father to me, he died of a stroke a few years ago.  I know his family must be hurting.  My prayers go out to them.

How sad when someone seemed to have so much life and positive energy but there were underlying pain and problems.  After watching several commentators, it appears there might have been a combination of deep depression and addiction.  Too bad he didn't see the end to his pain and despair and felt there was no one to turn to.  Of course, one never knows what might be the REAL underlying reasons.  Who will ever forget his opening, "Good Morning, Vee--ett--namm!"  Robin, RIP and make 'em laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish it were an internet hoax but I don't think so - I don't understand people who have children and so many blessings in their lives killing themselves if he did but it is sad and he will be missed.  I'll never forget the first time I ever saw Robin Williams was in Mork and Mindy.

Robin Williams was a very funny man on the outside but on the inside he suffered from a life long struggle with depression that ultimately claimed his life.  There is no antidote for depression and the outward signs of success are no indication of the daily struggle that many people, including Robin Williams, went through or go through on a daily basis.

I'm still in shock 

I didn't know he was a long-time depression sufferer. I heard on the news today that someone who knew him was surprised he didn't kill himself years ago.
