peppers on movie popcorn?
« on: December 28, 2014, 06:03:34 am »
We went to the movies over the holidays and my son was putting peppers and pepper juice on his movie popcorn. I thought that was odd. Does anyone else do this, or do something else kinda odd?

I've never thought of adding any thing (not even salt) to my popcorn. But I guess kids nowadays like to experiment and I guess your relative was trying something different.

Growing up, Friday nights was popcorn night and sometimes we would put seasoning salt instead of regular salt on our popcorn. That's the extent of my experimenting. I've never heard of putting peppers on popcorn, but I guess I should be surprised since there's all kinds of flavored corn now.

That seems strange. Lol  He must really love his pepper.  I like butter and seasoning salt, but that's about it!

I've never heard of that. But a lot of people like to put different things on their food because it tastes good to them. Although I may look twice if I saw someone doing that to their popcorn :)

Putting pepper or pepper juice on popcorn - that doesn't sound very good.  Very, very strange.  I will stick to putting butter and salt on my popcorn.  I don't like to experiment with food.  I stick to the basics.

I am not a big fan of peppers or popcorn and that doesn't even sound very good.

I've tried other flavor enhancements on my popcorn in the past, but not peppers.  Not a huge pepper fan, which is the reason why.  If someone is a fan of peppers, having spicy popcorn would probably be pretty tasty.  I'd equate that to people who like kettle corn - the sweet/salty flavor mix.

I've never heard of such a thing.  I suppose it puts a different spin on trail mix.  But when I think popcorn I think something sweet to go with it.  Maybe an apple.  Oh or Grapes.  That does sound nice.  Never heard of combining peppers with popcorn though.  He may be onto something new.

I've never heard of this, but that doesn't mean it's unheard-of.  Me--I'll stick to butter.

I used to work at a movie theater and some people would ask for the "fresh/hot" popcorn and then put M&Ms or chocolate candy in it so that it melts and makes "chocolate popcorn". I think it's kind of gross. I'll just stick to butter. :)
