Have you ever added spinach leaves.....that adds a different dimension to lasagna.

I agree, spinach is great in lasagna. I like to add it to the sauce, instead of layering it separately. Also, adding a little cream to a red sauce tastes amazing.

The cheesier the better...I use a six cheese blend by Sargento...also I use fresh baby spinach just for the health value because when it is cooked in food you really can't taste it :)

I make lasagna with sausage. I make one layer with a cheese mixture and the next with the meat with sauce and alternate them and the last layer I put meat and Mozarella cheese on top. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in oven at 350 degrees. I usually make it on holidays like Easter, Christmas or New Years day. The cheese mixture is Parmesan cheese, Ricotta cheese and with eggs added. Oh yes I always put sauce on the base.

I use Italian sausage and hamburger, browned and added to the pasta sauce. I add spinach to the ricotta, and layer it.  Meat sauce first, a layer of lasagna noodles, layer of ricotta mixture, and then repeat.

Lasagna is a dish I have yet to master.  But trying switching it up and use sliced eggplant instead of the noodles.  Delicious!

We actually make the traditional Lasagna - homemade gravy, whole milk Ricotta, whole milk Mozzarella, and we use grated Locatelli, all layered in a huge pan.  My family doesn't like changes in their traditional foods, LOL.  I really like a vegetable lasagna, but since my family wouldn't eat, I don't bother making it.
