Do you go to fairs?
« on: June 04, 2015, 08:53:15 am »
Our yearly fair will be coming soon.  It's pretty big, tons of rides, headliners (Carrie Underwood is 1 that will appear), carnival type games, and tons of good food!  There also is an area called The Beer Gardens, which is only for 21 and above which serves all types of drinks, and you guessed beer.  A good place to bump into people you don't usually see.  Go every year.

I've gone in the past, but it's been years since I've gone to a fair. I just don't have anyone to go with any more, and it's boring to go by myself.

I have went every year, but last year was very disappointing to me. Everything cost significantly more and I was super disappointed at the tasteless food.

We go to our local county fair, and then to the state fair at the end of the summer.

No.  Have not been in probably 30 years.  Everything is way over priced, the rides are not safe, and there are too many people.

Only to take the grandkids, I do not trust the rides anymore.  Kiddie rides are safer. :)

I would love to go to the St. Louis VP Fair but its always so crowded. The Fairs around the town I'm from isn't really a fair just a small carnival but I go to that for the funnel cakes lol.

I haven't been to a Fair in a lot of years.  They are fun walking around deciding which ride you will not ride. :)

I loved them as a kid, but now I just find them too hot, crowded, and overpriced. Wish I could enjoy them still.

Our town has an annual County Fair.  We go down and browse through the 4-H Building to see what the 4-H kids have done for their projects.

I like to go through the horse barn to see all the horses and to see if anyone we know from the days when our kids were showing their horses still have anyone showing horse.

Just walking through the fairgrounds we always run into friends and chat awhile.

The Milk Association has a little "barn" that they sell hard ice cream out of so that is a great annual stop too!

No  :( used to take my boys when they were young - now due to chronic pain and difficult mobility I don't go because it would be hard or rather impossible for me to walk around.  I hate not being able to do things I want to do.  But I still at that have a lot to be thankful for and things I do to entertain myself at home.

We have a small county fair here in August. I usually do up several items for craft exhibits and do some baking and maybe even some canning. It helps make it full in those areas. Of course we are losing ground every year as we are losing more young people. they are going to the big cities for jobs and you can't blame them.  I have not been to the state fair in quite awhile. It is just so big and hot anymore. I like to just mosey anymore instead of dang near running to be able to see everything in one day. May go this year though as we will have to be there for doctors appointments.
