What's in Your Neighborhood?
« on: September 20, 2015, 09:52:28 am »
09-20, is National Neighborhood Day. What is in your neighborhood? In my neighborhood, years ago, had a shopping center and it was completely torn down and a new one with a day care center was built in its place, grocery outlet store just was built and will be opened soon, can't wait for the opened door sale, lol. My neighbors are both friendly and some are loners, young and old here. We have both apartments and houses.  We have a community pool with the yearly dues. We have a live theater put-on plays, sometimes they put-on a dinner/show, they are fun. Have a good day, still very warm here.

Houses.  Most people mind their own business.  Which is a good thing.  People throw their hand up when they drive by (well some of them do) and if you specifically asked some would help if you needed it.  Things are not like they use to be when if you needed help someone would be there to lend you a hand.  A few years ago the area I lived in before where I live now I had surgery on my arm and my yard had not been mowed in 3 weeks.  I was out there trying to start the mower (which I finally did) and mow my yard (push mower) with ONE arm and my neighbors stood there in their yards gathered together and watched me struggle.  lol.  They could have at least went inside and peeked from behind the curtains and made it less obvious. : )

All houses in my neighborhood.  We are very nearby a major shopping mall and lots of smaller outdoor malls consisting of everything from restaurants to pet stores to furniture stores to drug stores.  Plenty of places to shop for food all nearby.  There's definitely no lack of anything here in my neighborhood.  We've got one or three neighbors who are friendly and will give you the occasional "hi," but for the most part I can't say they're very friendly.  We also have a mix of people both young and old.

My neighborhood consists of wonderful people - any of which I could count on in an emergency.  I am blessed.

Live in a completely residential neighborhood.  We all have 1 to 2 acres, so we kniw each other, but really don't interact too much.

I'm in a rural area so there isn't much in my neighborhood except a few houses.  The small town near me has a Tractor Supply and a Family Dollar as well as a bar and a restaurant plus a dog groomer and a couple of banks.
