I am 74 :) years old and retired from my job when I turned 62.  I did not go back to work till after a little a year.  I could not live on SS.  I went to walmart here in town and begged for a job.  I have been working for them for 11 years now.  I fell last Oct. and broke my shoulder.  Had surgery on it twice.  Well then I fell in Aug, this year and broke my femour bone in my leg.  Had to have surgery agai,  I was in the nursing home foe 7 weeks for threphy and I have been home 3 weeks now.  I am suppose to go back to work in a couple weeks.  Just hope I am can make it when when I get back.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

I wish you a speedy recovery and hope some way you can find an online opportunity that will replace your Walmart income so you don't have to work. My wife is 72 and still working, but only because she loves her job working with special needs kids at the school. She also only works 5 or 6 hours as a sub, so she can take off anytime she wants to.

I have thought about retirement but am still far away. Don't see how you can financially retire in this day and age.

The secret is learning to use the Internet for income.

I'm not quite there yet but winning the lottery sounds like a great way to retire (if it was the right amount). I guess I should buy a ticket.  :P

My life insurance will be used to pay off bills. I have minimal bills but my family is somewhat expensive. I am fifty two with two teenagers.  I will spend the next fifteen years paying off their college tuition. I will most likely spend about six years paying off their weddings. I anticipate working at least sixty hours a week, on average, till the day I die. That being said I will most likely die in front of a computer while working. I have two pairs of shorts-both about three years old, a 2 year old pair of jeans, four suits (all about twenty years old), a pre-1970 jeep, a 2005 scooter, two computers, a nice pen and two watches-all paid for.  I always bring my lunch and breakfast to work and go out to eat once every two weeks with my wife.  I do have investments that I contribute to on a regular basis thanks to Fusion cash.

Already retired and enjoying it, I volunteer, travel and I substitute teach a few days a week and of course fusion cash adds a few pennies, so I just make it work and try and enjoy this season in my life.

I'm going to be 50 next year and I agree with you, as much as we would like to retire we can't. We still have a bit to go before we have that luxury to actually retire.  :'(
