First thought is to make sure you have a job lined up in Arizona before you move.

It does get well over 100 degrees in the shade every summer, but they forgot to tell you there is not much shade from a cactus.

LOL!!!!  Unless it's a SAGUARO!  ;)

Well you stand under your cactus (I guess it would be next to) when it's 115 degrees outside and I'll stand under one of the 60 foot fir trees in my yard when it's 80 degrees outside and let's see who keeps cool longer.

Well, coming from someone (me) who moved to Arizona 20 yrs. ago - if you can take the heat (and I mean heat - 110 and above in summer) than by all means come to AZ!!!  One thing is for sure AZ has changed a lot in the past 20 yrs. I've been here - we have increased humidity which when coupled with high heat is no fun, we have lots of traffic now but of course we do have the Grand Canyon and it's spectacular.  So maybe the best thing for you to do is spend a summer here BEFORE you make the permanent choice!!!  Good Luck in whatever you decide!

It is very hot in southern Arizona in the summer and people do have to have air conditioning, otherwise Arizona is a beautiful state.

I have a cousin who lives in Colorado during the summer and Arizona during the winter.  He really likes it.  My goal is to move to Hawaii....
Have a wonderful day!

Moving is a very personal decision. If you are a senior, some states are senior friendly...while others are not. Some states have only Federal benefits, while others have both Federal and State benefits. Also, some have sales taxes, others not. These and others factors you must consider before making any decision.

My cousin just moved from Arizona to Colorado.   She said she needed the cool air.

I was born in Arizona and yes it gets very hot and they have these crazy dust storms where the dust just fly's everywhere. I did like riding the horses a lot.

Florida to Arizona  ???  I guess you won't miss the ocean but it will still be hot and you don't have to worry about the time change.  Enjoy your new neighbors ;)  8)
