If there is anything open, that is usually the challenge.

I have gone out to eat on Christmas years ago but have noticed over the past decade that fewer and fewer places remain open. It seems to be a holiday saved for family.  I suppose everyone should be able to celebrate at home rather than work on this sacred day.

I've never gone out to eat on Christmas...I've always ate at a relative's house.
I wish that more places closed to allow people time with their families. I work at a casino that never EVER closes, and I hate that I miss out on so much because of it. I'm planning on getting another job soon, but I have to wait until I'm finished with my degree.

It has never occurred to me to go out to dinner at a restaurant.  Christmas is about family, your love ones or just with friends which can be family.

A couple of times we have gone out to eat for Christmas. Just the two of us and sometimes my brother and family go out town. Last year I cooked for my dad as they were gone. Before I remarried and lived in a big city, if I could not go out of town too see the family I usually just helped out at some place like Joy Junction and served to those less off then me or at a café that served meals to the homeless. I enjoyed it .

No, we never go out to eat on Christmas...I prefer staying inside, eating dinner at home and playing Christmas music. The only holiday I don't mind spending away from home is The 4th of July. Only because we like to watch professional fireworks or we'd walk to a local park to watch the fireworks of people who can afford the quality ones.

No, I spend the day basting a stuffed turkey and fixing the trimmings while watching Christmas movies.  :turkey:

My family tends to buy two turkeys before thanksgiving and saves one for christmas. It's pretty nice to have another massive dinner on Christmas.

Sometimes our family doesn't celebrate Christmas on exactly Christmas Day Dec. 25 because not everyone in the family is available that day. Some have to go to their spouse's families to celebrate that day. So we celebrate on Dec. 26 instead, which is just as fun. But that means Dec. 25 is open for us, so we often go out for Chinese that day because Chinese restaurants are always open on Christmas.

My family does a family celebration for Christmas.

I can see some people needing to go out. The less unfortunate of society, those in half way houses, etc... that don't have a family or have a kitchen to cook a meal in.  Going out for them would be a treat I imagine.
