would come from paying down the account with the highest interest rate.

We pay off credit cards every month, so we don't have any high interest debts. My wife got a bug she wanted to go see the grandkids in North Carolina (from Oregon), so since we had the car payment about six months ahead, she skipped paying it one month and used the cash to buy airline tickets. Almost like an instant payday loan from yourself (only at 3% instead of getting robbed). Just one more example why it's EXPENSIVE to be broke!

Pinterest has a TON of great info on how to pay off debt, how to save, how to be thrifty & frugal....AND it's so important to have savings for an unexpected emergency.  So many people I know live paycheck to paycheck & just don't care about saving for the future.  (They earn more money than me, so I KNOW they could save if they wanted to!) 

 I don't have any debt, but I'm always reading the "tips" on Pinterest.  I always thought I was good about saving money, but the tips I've learned there has me saving alot more money than I previously thought possible.

Paying down debts is hard.  When my cc were out of hand, I made minimum payments on several and tried to apply the max amount I could to the smallest balance first.  I was able to get back on track but it is also important not to charge anything more on them til you pay them off.  Yes, you do have to pay interest so sometimes you can move the charges from one card to another for 0 interest for a year but watch the transfer fees because this can be a large amount - usually three to five percent and you must - absolutely must - make the minimum payment each month or you lose the 0 interest deal.  Good luck and keep trying.
