Maybe hubby's antique desk, marble top tables and I have some salt cellers in the house all of these are dated around the mid 1800's. We have a lot of antiques stored and one of these days most are going to be sold we have no one to leave them too. The on person we could leave them too doesn't want any more.

I have my Great Great Mother rocking chair.  It is well over 100 years old. I try to rock each great grand babies in it when after they are born.  There have been 7 generations rocked in that chair.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

I have a Cedar chest that I got from my son in law. He was gonna throw it out but I took it. It belonged to his grandparents in the 40s

The oldest things around me in my office at home are:

Oil painting done by my grandmother.
Photograph of our town's Main Street.  I don't know the year, but it is before automobiles were the mode of transportation.

The oldest thing with the highest value, is a framed quote from John Ruskin written in the 1800's, that I have kept hanging in my office for at least 50 years, whether at work or home. It has saved me more money than I could even guess and I refer to it often.

"It's unwise to pay too much, but it's unwise to pay too little, too. When you pay too much, you lose a little money . . . that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The Common Law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot . . . it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."

Depression glass and jewelry that belonged to my grandmother.

I was a "rock collector" as a kid and used to scour the coal banks where I lived for fossils. Got a few of them and still have them. They have been in my possession for at least 50 years.

Oh, wait. I forgot...a long time ago, I bought a quilt that dates back to 1875. I love old things.

The lift chair I'm sitting in was given to my Mom.  She bought it used for my Uncle when he when he couldn't get up on his own any longer.  Looking outside I'd say it's Somonauk Creek running along my backyard.
